Honda Launches CB650R & CBR650R with E-Clutch in India

Honda has introduced the 2025 CB650R and CBR650R in India, both featuring the innovative E-Clutch technology. These Honda bikes are priced at Rs 9.60 lakh and Rs 10.40 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). Moreover, these models are now Rs 40,000 costlier than their standard counterparts.

The E-Clutch system automates clutch engagement, which enhances comfort during rides. Bookings for the 2025 Honda CB650R and CBR650R E-Clutch variants are now open across Honda BigWing dealerships and the official website. Besides, the deliveries are set to commence by the end of May 2025. Let’s know more about these Honda bikes in detail.

What is E-Clutch Technology?

Honda's E-Clutch system utilizes servo motors to provide automatic clutch operation. This enables users to shift gears and brake without the need for manual clutch lever operation. This is especially convenient in stop-and-go traffic, lessening rider fatigue. Additionally, if riders still want to have manual control, the system can be turned off, resuming conventional clutch operation.

Design and Features

The CB650R boasts Honda's Neo Sports Cafe styling, which is defined by round LED headlight, fuel tank with sculpted lines, and exposed steel frame. In contrast, the CBR650R has a fully-faired styling with twin LED headlamps and more angular body panels. Both models are offered in red and black colours. In addition, they have a 5.0-inch colour TFT display providing smartphone connectivity through Honda RoadSync app. This provides access to calls, messages, and navigation using Bluetooth.

Performance and Specifications

Both motorcycles are powered by a 649cc, inline-four-cylinder engine delivering 94 bhp at 12,000 rpm and 63 Nm of torque at 9,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The E-Clutch system adds 2.8 kg to the overall weight of the bikes.

Apart from this, the motorcycles have a 41 mm Showa SFF-BP USD fork at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. It also features dual 310 mm discs at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear.
