Hero Mavrick 440 Discontinued from the Indian Market

Published at August 5, 2025 | By BikeJunction

The Hero Mavrick 440 has been discontinued from the Indian motorcycle market. This decision comes after months of low sales and no new production. Additionally, launched as Hero’s most premium bike, the Mavrick 440 failed to meet expectations.

Although it offered a good riding experience, it could not attract enough buyers. Now, with zero units dispatched recently, the company has decided to stop the sale and production of the Mavrick 440 completely.

Mavrick 440 No Longer on Sale in Indian Market

Hero MotoCorp has discontinued the Mavrick 440 from the Indian motorcycle market. The brand has stopped the production and dispatch of this bike. In the last three months, no new unit has been manufactured or sent to showrooms.

Many dealers in Maharashtra have also stopped accepting bookings. The move confirms that the Mavrick 440 is no longer available for purchase in India.

No Production or Dispatch in the Last Three Months

According to recent reports, Hero MotoCorp did not produce or dispatch a single Mavrick 440 unit in the past three months. Before this dry spell, the company was only able to sell a few hundred units each month. These low sales numbers seem to have led to the decision to pull the plug on this model.

Dealers across several regions have confirmed that they are no longer receiving new stock of the motorcycle. Many of them have removed the model from display and stopped taking customer bookings.

Hero’s Most Premium Motorcycle Faces Low Demand

The Hero Mavrick 440 was the most expensive motorcycle in Hero’s lineup. It was based on the same platform as the Harley-Davidson X440. While the Harley model performed better in terms of sales, the Mavrick 440 failed to gain similar attention from buyers.

Many industry experts believe that weak marketing was one of the major reasons for its failure. Along with that, the styling of the motorcycle did not attract enough buyers who look for an aspirational design in a premium motorcycle.

A Strong Bike That Didn’t Reach the Masses

The Mavrick 440 was well-liked by those who tested it. The motorcycle featured a powerful engine, smooth riding dynamics, and a comfortable suspension setup. In fact, many riders and reviewers considered it one of the best motorcycles ever made by Hero.

Despite having a good engine and smooth city handling, the Mavrick 440 didn’t get the attention it deserved. Indian consumers did not connect with its features and value, which resulted in low demand and poor sales numbers.

Mavrick 440 Leaves the Market Quietly

Hero MotoCorp has not made a loud announcement about this discontinuation. But the lack of production, halt in dispatches, and no availability at dealerships clearly confirm the decision. The company may now shift its focus to other models in its lineup.

With the Mavrick 440 now gone, Hero will look to fill the gap with new models or updates. But for now, one of its most ambitious projects has quietly come to an end.
