Bajaj Auto has shared an important update regarding fuel compatibility. The company has confirmed that all motorcycles made by Bajaj are fully compatible with E20 fuel. In addition, this includes not only new bikes but also motorcycles that are up to 10 years old.
This announcement comes at a time when many people have raised concerns about India’s ethanol blending policy. However, Bajaj Auto has clearly shown its support and has assured customers about the safety of their bikes.

According to the company, its research and development teams have worked hard over the years. Because of this effort, Bajaj motorcycles can easily run on E20 fuel without any major issues.
“We’d like to assure everyone that all motorcycles made by us at Bajaj Auto, are fully compatible with the E20 fuel usage. And this is true not only for recently made bikes, but for motorcycles made by us for more than the last 10 years. This has been achieved after rigorous work by our R&D teams. For this reason, our warranty terms and conditions hold true even true for the usage of E20 fuel type."
In addition, Bajaj also confirmed that this compatibility applies to motorcycles made for global markets.
“As you are aware, we sell our bikes not only in India, but all over the world. In fact, in a country like Brazil, the fuel type is E27, that is 27 per cent ethanol, and we sell our bikes over there, which run perfectly well, and we have not received any kind of product complaints for this reason,” said Sumeet Narang, President, Central Marketing, Bajaj Auto Ltd.
Interestingly, Bajaj Auto has also included KTM and Triumph bikes that it manufactures in India. This means that even these motorcycles, made over the last 10 years, can run on E20 fuel.
Bajaj has been producing small-capacity KTM bikes in India for many years. On the other hand, the made-in-India Triumph bikes entered the market more recently in 2023. Even then, Bajaj has confirmed their compatibility with E20 fuel.

While Bajaj has given a strong assurance, it has also shared one important point. Riders may notice a small drop in fuel efficiency when using E20 fuel. However, the company says that many other factors also affect mileage.
“A marginal drop in fuel efficiency can be expected. But as you are aware, there are other stronger factors like driving conditions, riding habits and maintenance, which need to be optimised to get you the best mileage performance. So, go ahead and buy your favourite Pulsars, Dominars, KTMs, Avengers or Triumphs, made by Bajaj Auto proudly in India. We’ve got you covered,” added Narang.

At the same time, the Indian government continues to push ethanol blending. Recently, Nitin Gadkari confirmed that E20 fuel is now available across the country.
However, some users still prefer E10 fuel. Despite this demand, the government has clearly said that it will not bring back E10 as an option. Instead, people who want pure petrol can choose ethanol-free fuel, although it costs much more.
For instance, in Delhi, E20 petrol costs around Rs. 102 per litre. In comparison, ethanol-free petrol costs more than Rs. 167 per litre.
Overall, Bajaj Auto’s announcement brings relief to many bike owners. Now, riders with even older Bajaj motorcycles can use E20 fuel without worry. In addition, popular models like Pulsar, Dominar, Avenger, along with KTM and Triumph bikes made by Bajaj, are all covered under this assurance.
However, riders should still maintain their bikes properly and follow good riding habits. This will help them get better performance and mileage, even with E20 fuel.
