August 2023 Sales Report: Honda 2W Experiences An Overall 41.17% MoM & 3.26% YoY Rise

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has had a great August 2023, reinforcing its leading role in the Indian two-wheeler market. They're dedicated to making customers happy and introducing new ideas, and in August 2023, they sold 4,77,590 units, which is 3% more than the previous year.

Honda 2W Sales Aug 2023 YoY Growth

When we compare August 2023 sales to August 2022, HMSI has experienced significant progress. In August 2022, they sold 4,63,650 units, but in August 2023, the number jumped to an impressive 4,77,590 units, showing a decent 3% growth. This consistent year-on-year performance demonstrates HMSI's ability to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.

HMSI's success is mainly driven by the domestic market, which contributed a significant 94.47% to the total sales in August 2023. Domestic sales alone reached an impressive 4,51,200 units, highlighting the brand's strong presence in the country.

Exports & Global Reach

HMSI is growing its presence worldwide, but in August 2023, exports made up 5.53% of its total sales. While exports decreased slightly to 26,390 units from 39,307 units in August 2022. However, HMSI is still dedicated to expanding its global footprint. 
 

Honda 2W Sales Aug 2023 MoM Growth

Looking at August 2023 compared to July 2023, HMSI had an impressive MoM growth of 41.17%. Domestic sales surged by 45.14%, selling an additional 1,40,333 units in just one month. Although exports dipped slightly by 3.84%, they still play a crucial role in the company's overall performance.

Activa: Driving Force of HMSI’s Massive Growth

The major reason behind Honda’s significant rise in its sales figures is driven by its hugely popular Activa Scooter lineup. The Activa sales number alone makes up about 70% of its total sales in India. 

Besides the Activa, HMSI also offers another very popular scooter- the Dio scooter, giving customers a variety of choices to match their preferences. 

In August 2023, HMSI added some exciting new products to their lineup. They launched the brand-new SP160, continuing the SP brand's legacy. Additionally, they introduced OBD2-compliant versions of the 2023 Honda Livo, CD110 Dream Deluxe, and Hornet 2.0, demonstrating their commitment to innovation and technological progress.
