The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid feels light on its feet, especially when the road demands quick changes in direction. Its 125 cc engine produces 8.08 Bhp and 10.3 Nm, giving the scooter a steady pull when climbing flyovers or carrying a pillion. I could hold a steady pace without needing frequent throttle corrections on rising sections. The hybrid assist also adds extra push when moving away after a complete stop. The 785 mm seat height gives a natural reach to the handlebar, helping maintain control during slow, angled turns.

• The compact scooter body keeps the front easy to place when moving through narrow gaps. I could judge its width quickly when the road narrowed beside parked vehicles.
• The two level seat gives enough room to adjust the riding position. I could shift slightly during longer stretches without sitting against the front edge. The raised pillion section also keeps the passenger position clearly defined.
• The LED headlight gives a wider and clearer view after sunset, which helped me read the road when entering a poorly lit junction. Faded markings and small changes in the road surface were easier to pick out before reaching the turn.
• A 110 mm rear tyre keeps the rear planted when changing direction after avoiding a road obstruction. The scooter settles quickly once the steering returns to its normal position.

• Its 125cc fuel injected engine delivers a smooth and predictable response when the road starts climbing after a slower section. The power delivery remains controlled through a long incline, so frequent throttle changes are not needed.
• The Smart Motor Generator starts the engine quietly with very little vibration. This was noticeable when the engine restarted after an automatic stop. The smooth restart keeps the scooter from feeling abrupt during repeated stops.
• Automatic Stop & Start switched the engine off while I waited during a longer halt, then restarted smoothly when I was ready to move. I liked that the restart did not disturb the scooter’s balance or require any extra input from my side. 
• Its Enhanced Power Assist gives the scooter extra support when pulling away with a pillion after a slow uphill turn. The added response helps maintain momentum when the road rises immediately after the corner, without needing a sudden increase in throttle input. 

• The 12 inch front wheel and 10 inch rear wheel make the steering easy to control when a bend has a rough patch. During my ride, I could keep the scooter on line after the front wheel passed over a small dip.
• The 145 mm ground clearance gives enough space when crossing a steep road transition. I could move over a raised entry without the underside feeling close to the surface. This adds confidence when the road suddenly rises at an angle.
• Weighing just 99 kg, the Ray ZR changes direction with little effort. I could correct the scooter’s line quickly when a bend tightened unexpectedly. The low weight also makes rapid steering inputs easier to control.
• The 190 mm front disc brake with UBS gives controlled braking when the road suddenly narrows near a turn. Braking pressure can be increased smoothly when another vehicle moves closer to the riding line. This helps slow the scooter without making the front feel unsettled during the turn.

• Its 21 litre under seat storage gave me enough space for my riding gloves and a compact jacket. Keeping these items under the seat meant they did not interfere with the floorboard area.
• The digital instrument cluster keeps the important riding information together, making it easier to check details when the riding conditions change. During a longer ride, the display was useful for checking the fuel level before continuing through a stretch with fewer fuel stations.
• It also has Bluetooth connectivity with Y Connect that displays call, SMS, and email alerts on the instrument cluster & helped to keep track of important notifications without reaching for the phone.
• A pass switch makes it easier to signal an overtaking move. The brighter headlight flash gives vehicles ahead an extra visual cue before the scooter moves across.

The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid feels light, responsive & easy to place on the road. Its hybrid assist adds useful support during starts and inclines. The 99 kg body also makes quick steering corrections feel natural. I liked how easily the scooter changed direction without needing heavy inputs. Features such as Bluetooth connectivity and 21 litre storage add useful support without dominating the riding experience. For me, its lightweight handling is the quality that shapes the ride most.
