Yamaha Aerox 155 has always been a scooter that stands apart in the Indian market. While most scooters are bought for daily commuting, grocery runs, and family duties, the Aerox has carved its own little world. It is designed for riders who want a little extra fun every time they twist the throttle.

For 2025, Yamaha has given the Aerox some welcome updates, which make it even more appealing. We spent some time with the new version, riding it through busy city traffic, cruising on highways, and even taking it through some twisty corners. Here’s everything you need to know about how it feels to live with the new Aerox 155.

• The Aerox 155 looks nothing like your regular scooters. When you park it next to any other scooter, people instantly notice the sporty, sharp design and bold stance. 
• The twin LED headlights in the front give it a motorcycle-like face, and when you ride it at night, the lighting looks premium and lights up the road confidently.

• At the rear, the slim LED strip for the taillight feels very stylish. 

• When you ride on the highway at night, the slim LED taillight makes the scooter stand out clearly, so vehicles behind you can spot it easily.
• The 2025 Aerox comes in fresh colours, and we feel the Racing Blue shade makes it look like a baby superbike on two small wheels. 

• The smart key system is super handy on the Aerox. You just walk up to the scooter, keep the fob in your pocket, twist the knob, and you’re good to go.
• The digital screen gives you lots of details and even connects to your phone for call and SMS alerts. 
• The only downside is that on a really sunny day, the display looks dull and could have been brighter.

• The Aerox is now E20 fuel-ready, which simply means it can handle the fuel blends we’ll be using more in the future. It’s a small update, but a smart one.
• There’s still no rear brake lock or lockable glove box. These little touches would’ve been useful, especially if you leave the scooter parked in crowded city spots.

• The Aerox 155 has the same 155cc, liquid-cooled engine derived from the R15, and this engine is what makes the Aerox special. 
• When you accelerate, the scooter feels eager and ready to play, unlike most scooters that just get you from point A to B.
• In city riding, you can easily keep up with traffic. Just a quick twist of the throttle puts you ahead of most bikes and scooters.
• On highways, the Aerox cruises comfortably at around 90–100 kmph. You don’t feel like the engine is working too hard, and overtaking big trucks feels natural. 
• Beyond 110 kmph, yes, it feels a bit stretched, but realistically, you won’t often need more on Indian roads.
• Between 5,000–7,000 rpm, the Aerox feels playful. It gives you that dirt-bike-like zing in the sound and makes you smile while overtaking or pulling ahead on open roads.
• In city riding conditions, the Aerox delivers close to 40 kmpl, which is respectable given its performance. 
• On the highway, the mileage drops slightly to around 33 kmpl, but considering the speed and power on offer, it’s still quite efficient.
• With a 5.5 litre fuel tank, you can expect a range of around 150–200 km on a full tank, depending on how spiritedly you ride.

• Yamaha has improved the suspension. At city speeds (50–60 kmph), the rear feels softer and absorbs bumps better.
• On rough city roads, the front still gives some thuds on medium bumps, but the overall ride feels more balanced.
• The seat height is 790 mm. Even shorter riders (like 5’6”) can put their feet down easily.

• The seat is wide and comfy. A two-hour ride felt fine without a backache.
• The pillion seat has good padding, though the stiff suspension still makes rough roads less fun for the passenger.

• Despite its maxi-scooter look, the Aerox feels light, stable, and easy to handle.
• On twisty roads, the 14-inch wheels and grippy Ceat tyres make it feel planted and confident.
• Brakes are decent for daily use, but the front disc could use more bite. A rear disc option would be nice.

• ABS works well on wet or sandy roads.
• Traction control feels useful on gravel or sudden wet patches, even with a 15 bhp scooter.

• The Aerox isn’t the most practical scooter if you compare it to family scooters. For example, it doesn’t have a flat floorboard, so carrying grocery bags between your feet isn’t possible.
• However, the 24.5-litre underseat storage is impressive. You can easily fit a full-face helmet inside, along with some small extras like gloves or a raincoat. 

• The fuel filler cap is positioned on the central tunnel, so you don’t have to lift the seat to refuel. It’s handy at fuel stations, especially when you have bags in the underseat storage.

Yamaha Aerox 155 Version S is priced at around Rs 1.41 lakh (ex-showroom), and yes, that makes it expensive for a scooter. But the truth is, this scooter is not about being practical or affordable. If you want a scooter to carry sacks of groceries, this is not for you.

Moreover, if you like riding and want sporty looks with a lively engine, the Aerox 155 is a great choice. It’s one of the most fun scooters you can buy in India right now.
