EICMA 2026: Zontes ZT853-R Gets 148.5bhp Power and Brembo Brakes

Zontes has showcased its new ZT853-R naked motorcycle at EICMA 2026. The new model sits above the existing ZT703-R in the brand's line-up and comes with a more powerful engine, an aluminium chassis and advanced electronic features. It gets an 847cc three-cylinder engine that produces 148.5bhp of power and offers a claimed top speed of 280kmph. In addition, Zontes claims that the motorcycle can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 2.8 seconds.

The ZT853-R also gets premium hardware from brands such as Brembo and Kayaba. Moreover, its electronics package includes a six-axis IMU, cornering ABS, traction control, launch control and a bidirectional quickshifter.

Zontes ZT853-R Design and Styling

The Zontes ZT853-R features an aggressive streetfighter design with sharp body panels and a compact headlamp assembly. Its exposed mechanical parts add to its sporty look, while aerodynamic winglets give the front section a distinct appearance. Furthermore, the motorcycle gets full-LED lighting for improved visibility and a modern look.

Zontes has also used carbon-fibre components across several body sections. This adds to its sporty character and supports its lightweight design. Another major highlight is the aluminium single-sided swingarm, which gives the rear section a premium appearance and leaves one side of the rear wheel exposed.

847cc Three-Cylinder Engine and Performance

The new Zontes bike draws power from an 847cc, three-cylinder engine. It produces 148.5bhp at 12,500rpm and 90Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. These figures make it more powerful than the existing ZT703-R.

According to Zontes, the motorcycle can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 280kmph. Therefore, its engine and performance figures place it among the high-performance naked motorcycles.

Aluminium Chassis and Kayaba Suspension

The ZT853-R uses a new aluminium chassis that weighs just 10kg, as claimed by the company. It works with an aluminium single-sided swingarm to support the motorcycle's lightweight construction.

For suspension, Zontes has equipped the front with fully adjustable 43mm Kayaba upside-down forks. These forks feature DLC-coated stanchions and offer 115mm of suspension travel. At the rear, the motorcycle gets an adjustable monoshock with a stated shock stroke of 58mm.

Brembo Brakes and Advanced Safety Features

This naked motorcycle gets twin 310mm floating front disc brakes with Brembo M4.30 callipers. In addition, its electronic braking system works with a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU). This setup supports cornering ABS and lean-sensitive traction control to help riders maintain control while cornering.

The ZT853-R also offers four-level adjustable anti-wheelie control, launch control, ride-by-wire throttle and cruise control. Moreover, a bidirectional quickshifter allows riders to shift gears without using the clutch for both upshifts and downshifts.

Intelligent Control System and Digital Display

Zontes has equipped the ZT853-R with its Intelligent Control System 4.0, which supports NFC-based unlocking. The motorcycle also gets a horizontally positioned digital instrument display that shows riding information, navigation and a stopwatch function.

Furthermore, the Zontes 2.0 smartphone app supports connectivity and allows riders to check vehicle details such as tyre pressure and location. These features add more convenience to the motorcycle's overall package.
