Yamaha R15 and R3 Arrived In 70th Anniversary Editions With Limited Production

Yamaha has launched the special 70th Anniversary editions of the Yamaha R15 and Yamaha R3 in Brazil. These motorcycles celebrate Yamaha’s rich racing history with exclusive styling updates and limited production numbers.

The anniversary editions mainly focus on cosmetic upgrades inspired by Yamaha’s older Grand Prix race bikes. In addition, both motorcycles get the iconic white and red colour combination from Yamaha’s early racing years. Yamaha will produce only 1,200 units of the R15 Anniversary Edition globally. Meanwhile, the company will build just 600 units of the R3 Anniversary Edition.

Both motorcycles also receive special Speed Block graphics, which first appeared during the 1970s. Perhaps, these limited models may attract collectors and Yamaha racing enthusiasts strongly.

About Yamaha R3 70th Anniversary Edition

Yamaha R3

The R3 Anniversary Edition combines sporty design with premium visual upgrades. The motorcycle features a white body finish with bold red graphics and golden Yamaha logos. Unlike the standard version, this special edition gets golden upside-down front forks for a more premium appearance. In addition, the front fender also receives matching red accents.

The motorcycle continues using the same 321cc twin-cylinder engine without any performance changes. This engine produces 41.3hp and 29.42 Nm torque with a six-speed gearbox. Yamaha also offers smartphone connectivity through the Yamaha Motor On application. Furthermore, riders can access riding information, maintenance schedules, and performance data easily.

The R3 also gets a USB charging port for better convenience during long rides. Overall, the motorcycle balances modern technology with classic racing-inspired styling successfully.

About Yamaha R15 Anniversary Edition

Yamaha R15

The Yamaha R15 Anniversary Edition also receives the same retro-inspired white and red paint scheme. However, the motorcycle keeps its blacked-out front suspension setup. The bike features Speed Block graphics across the fairing and fuel tank area. In addition, Yamaha has added a commemorative 70th Anniversary logo on the tank.

Mechanically, the motorcycle remains unchanged from the standard version. It continues using a 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 18.8hp and 14.7 Nm torque. The engine also benefits from Yamaha’s VVA technology and assist-and-slipper clutch system.

Therefore, the motorcycle continues to offer smooth performance and sporty riding characteristics. The R15 also uses a Deltabox frame, monoshock suspension, and dual-channel ABS setup.
