Yamaha Motor India has raised the prices of its popular R15 V4 sportbike lineup this month. The company increased prices by Rs. 4,900 across all variants. This change affects every version, from the standard model to the premium editions.
The updated prices now start at Rs. 1,71,100 for the standard variant. Meanwhile, the top-end R15M Carbon Fibre costs Rs. 1,96,100. Other variants also saw similar increases, which reflect rising production and logistics costs.
However, such a hike may feel noticeable for buyers in this segment. Small sportbike buyers often focus on value and affordability. Even then, the R15 V4 continues to hold strong demand in India.
R15 has developed a fan base of loyal fans over the years. Its sporty design and high performance are admired by many riders. Due to this, buyers might still purchase it even with the increased price.
Moreover, the motorcycle is unique in its kind. It provides the real sportbike experience, which is hardly found among competitors in India. The riding position, styling, and features provide a different experience to the users.
These good identities perhaps explain why Yamaha continues to record sales. With the increased prices, the R15 V4 sportsbike is still one of the favourites of young riders.
The bike takes inspiration from Yamaha’s bigger superbikes. Its sharp bodywork and aggressive front give it a premium look.

The motorcycle also includes modern features. It offers a TFT display that shows clear riding data. In addition, traction control improves safety during sudden acceleration.
These features make the R15 feel advanced for its segment. Riders get both style and technology in one package. This combination adds value despite the price increase.
The R15 V4 has a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 155cc engine. This engine has variable valve actuation to enhance its performance. It produces 18.1bhp and 14.2 Nm of torque.
In addition, the engine is in a six-speed gearbox. It provides smooth power and powerful high-speed performance. Riders have a rapid acceleration and steady cruising.
But its true power is in its high revving character. The engine is optimised to operate at higher RPMs, and this suits sporty riding styles. This makes the R15 motorbike fun both on the road and on the tracks.
The weight of the motorcycle is only 141kg and this contributes towards easy handling. Its lightness enhances its control in urban traffic. It also enhances performance on twisty roads.
Moreover, this fully faired bike has a Deltabox frame. This frame has enhanced stability and balance. The aluminium swingarm also enhances the handling response.
The suspension system consists of USD front suspension and a rear monoshock. These parts make the bike remain stable when riding at high speeds. Consequently, riders are now confident riding at higher speeds.
