Yamaha Marks 25 Years Of Iconic R1 Superbike

Yamaha will celebrate the classic R1 superbike's 25th anniversary in 2023 with a weekend of high-octane racing at Mugello Circuit in Italy. The celebrations will occur on July 21-22 at the Tuscany site as part of this year's Yamaha Racing Experience. An exclusive event is formerly exclusively available to buyers of Yamaha's top-spec R1M but is now open to owners of regular R1s for the first time.

"The R1 is a game-changer in the world of motorcycles, pushing the boundaries of performance and innovation and constantly evolving to be at the pinnacle of the racing world," stated Paolo Pavesio, Marketing and Motorsport Director at Yamaha Europe.

The Yamaha Racing Experience at Mugello is set to be an extraordinary event this year. It provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate such an iconic machine alongside Yamaha's customers and notable people from the brand.

The exclusive festivities will accommodate 25 owners of the standard R1, allowing them to participate in track sessions on both days. Additionally, Yamaha racing technicians will be available to assist in setting up bikes for the challenging 3.3-mile Mugello course.

The celebration not only marks the 25th anniversary of the R1 but also acknowledges its technological advancements and racing heritage.
