Yamaha FZ Blue Flex Launched at Rs. 1.24 Lakh with E85 Fuel Support

Yamaha has launched the new Yamaha FZ Blue Flex in India at a price of Rs 1.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new model is based on the same platform as the FZ-Rave. However, it brings an important update that makes it different. The bike can run on ethanol-blended fuel from E20 to E85. Because of this, it supports the growing use of alternative fuels in India.

In addition, Yamaha aims this bike at riders who want a simple 150cc commuter with better fuel options. The price difference is also very small. It costs just Rs 400 more than the standard FZ-Rave, which makes it an easy upgrade choice.

Design and Colour Option

Yamaha FZ Blue Flex Design

The Yamaha FZ Blue Flex comes in a single colour option, Metallic Black. Even though there are no multiple choices, this shade suits the muscular design of this Yamaha bike quite well. Moreover, the bike keeps the same styling as the FZ-Rave with a strong fuel tank design and sporty body panels.

Flex Fuel Capability Explained

The bike uses a 149cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with fuel injection. It produces 11.7 PS power and 12.8 Nm torque. However, this output is slightly lower than the standard FZ-Rave. Still, the main highlight here is the ability to run on E20 to E85 fuel.

In addition, this Yamaha 150 cc bike comes with a 5-speed gearbox that offers smooth shifting for daily rides. The fuel tank capacity is 12 litres, which is slightly smaller than before. The kerb weight stands at 139 kg, and the ground clearance is 135 mm. Because of this, riders may need to be a bit careful on bigger speed breakers.

Features and Hardware: What You Get?

Yamaha FZ Blue Flex Dashboard

The Yamaha FZ Blue Flex comes with all-LED lighting, which improves visibility. It also gets an LCD instrument console that shows all basic ride details. In addition, the bike includes single-channel ABS for better braking control.

However, Yamaha has not added any new features compared to the FZ-Rave. The bike continues with a single-piece seat, faux air vents, and an engine cowl that gives it a sporty feel.

Ride Setup & Stability: Comfort for Daily Use

The bike uses a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with disc brakes on both ends. Because of this setup, the bike offers balanced handling for city rides.

In conclusion, the Yamaha FZ Blue Flex focuses on offering fuel flexibility with a familiar design. If you want a commuter bike that supports ethanol fuel and keeps things simple, this new model could be worth considering.
