TVS Motor Hosts World Environment Day 2026 Workshop in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, June 5, 2026: TVS Motor Company, in partnership with UN Global Compact Network India, hosted a multi-stakeholder workshop on World Environment Day 2026. The event took place at the TVS Institute for Quality and Leadership in Anekal, Bengaluru. It followed the theme, “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.”

The workshop brought together leaders from business, government, academia, and civil society. The main aim was to discuss ways to support nature-positive and climate-resilient growth in India.

White Paper on Nature Capital Released

TVS Motor Company released a white paper titled “Nature Capital as a Strategic Business Imperative in India.” The paper highlights how ecosystem services like water, soil, biodiversity, and climate regulation support business growth.

It also explains risks linked to nature loss and suggests ways to include nature-related factors in business strategy and decision-making.

TNFD-aligned Report Introduced

In addition, the company launched its first TNFD-aligned report, “Mobility in Harmony with Nature.”With this step, TVS Motor became one of the first Indian automotive companies to follow the Taskforce on Nature-related Disclosures framework.

This report focuses on identifying and managing risks related to nature and improving long-term sustainability planning.

Industry Leaders Highlight the Importance of Nature

Thakur Pherwani, Chief Sustainability Officer, TVS Motor Company, said, “Nature is central to economic resilience, community well-being and the future of mobility. At TVS Motor Company, sustainability is embedded into how we think about products, operations, supply chains and partnerships. The release of our inaugural Task Force on Nature Related Disclosure (TNFD) -aligned report is an important step in assessing our nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities with greater discipline. Through the white paper and today's workshop, we hope to support a more informed conversation on how Indian businesses can protect natural capital while enabling long-term growth and value creation.”

Strong Progress in Sustainability Efforts

TVS Motor continues to improve its sustainability practices. Three of its Indian plants have achieved Zero Waste to Landfill and Net Water Positive status. Its Hosur plant holds GreenCo Platinum certification, while Mysuru and Nalagarh plants have received GreenCo Gold ratings.

The company’s Indonesia facility has also earned GreenCo Lite Platinum certification.

Green product initiatives

Six TVS products, including TVS Jupiter 125, Apache RTR 160 4V, iQube, Apache RR 310, Apache RTR 310, and TVS Callisto 125 (Indonesia), have received the GreenPro Type ecolabel. In addition, the company uses around 97% renewable energy in its Indian operations.

TVS Motor is also working on circular economy practices such as recycling, electric mobility, and sustainable product design.
