TVS Motor Company has achieved a major milestone as its electric scooter, the iQube, which crossed 6.26 lakh unit sales in India. This remarkable jump highlights the growing shift among Indian buyers toward electric mobility.

It took TVS 52 months to sell the first 3 lakh iQubes electric scooters. However, the next 3 lakh units were sold in just 13 months. This sharp growth in demand shows how fast electric scooters are becoming a suitable choice in the country.
The TVS iQube electric scooter, which was launched in January 2020, is TVS’s first electric scooter. It was introduced with full LED lights, smart features, and a comfortable riding design. These qualities helped the scooter gain fame among city riders looking for a family-friendly electric two-wheeler.
TVS had a strong run in FY2025, selling over 18 lakh scooters, including both petrol and electric models. In contrast to that, the iQube alone contributed 2,72,605 units. This means 15% of TVS’s total scooter sales last year came from its electric offering.
This strong performance helped TVS achieve a 26 percent market share in India’s domestic two-wheeler market. With the scooter industry selling over 68 lakh units in FY2025, TVS played a big part in the overall growth.
Retail data from Vahan shows that TVS sold 5,58,461 iQubes from January 2020 till the end of May 2025. It is important to note that this number does not include sales from Telangana.
Retail sales offer a clearer picture of actual customer demand. From just 82,107 units in FY2023, retail sales jumped to 1,83,190 units in FY2024. This marked a growth of 123 percent and gave TVS a 19 percent share of the electric two-wheeler market.
The momentum continued in FY2025 with 2,37,911 units sold. TVS increased its electric market share to 21 percent, keeping it in second place behind Ola Electric.
TVS began FY2026 on a high note. The iQube topped monthly electric two-wheeler sales in April 2025 for the first time since its launch. It held onto the top spot again in May 2025.
By the mid-June, TVS had already sold 11,841 iQube units, grabbing a 27 percent share of the 43,917 electric scooters sold across India. These numbers show that TVS is likely to lead electric scooter sales for a third straight month.
