Suzuki V-Strom 800DE Seen Testing in India Expected Launch Soon

Currently, V-Strom 800DE, along with V-Strom 650XT, sold in the International Markets.

Recently, the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE was spotted being tested in India for the first time. Despite not being manufactured or exported from India, Suzuki likely intends to launch this bike in the Indian market. This new parallel-twin platform is designed to fit above the existing V-Strom 650 XT. 

Suzuki V-Strom 800DE Engine

The Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE sighting in India is exciting news for motorcycle enthusiasts.

In November 2022, the V-Strom 800DE was unveiled overseas, offering a new parallel-twin platform designed to fit above the existing V-Strom 650 XT. 

The bike features a new 776cc engine that produces 84hp and 78Nm, focusing on mid-range power rather than high rpm performance. Similar to other parallel twin engines, it has a 270-degree crankshaft, providing a deep, V-twin-style rumble. 

Features of Suzuki V-Strom 800DE

The bike is more suitable for off-road than the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT, which is more convenient to be more on-road. It is due to its larger 21-inch front wheel, 220mm ground clearance, and 220mm suspension travel. 

The weight of the bike is 230 kg; the bike has an 855mm tall seat and adjustable suspension. However, it should be noted that the spoked wheels on the 800 come with tubed tyres, unlike the smaller V-Strom 650XT. 

The V-Strom 800 also boasts advanced features and electronic assists, surpassing the 650. These include a bi-directional quick-shifter, a 5-inch TFT display, riding modes, and two modes for the switchable dual-channel ABS.

Prices of Suzuki V-Strom 800DE

The V-Strom 800DE has a slightly higher price than the Triumph Tiger 850 Sport in global markets but still falls below the Tiger 900 GT. However, how Suzuki will price it in India is still being determined. Especially since the V-Strom 650XT received mixed reception due to its steep price of Rs 8.85 lakh, despite its overall likeability.
