Suzuki Planning to Showcase the Electric Prototype of Burgman

This Japanese manufacturer is preparing to showcase this electric prototype of the scooter at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show 2023.

Suzuki, the famous Japanese automobile brand, plans to display the Electric prototype of Suzuki Burgman. Currently, the Burgman is available with a 125cc engine. This future electric version of Burgman Street 125 will be showcased at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show of 2023. The show has been scheduled for 10 days, from October 26th to November 5th, which will take place in Tokyo. 
 

This prototype version will be for demonstration and exploration. The brand has clarified that the actual product will have many changes and might differ from this prototype version. As told by the brand, this electric version of Burgman will be equivalent to the current 125cc model. That means it is expected to match the acceleration and top speed offered by the currently running 125cc in the Indian market.
 

The feature people are looking for will be the battery-swapping mechanism contributed by Gachao. Gachao is a battery-swapping consortium which is based out of Japan. This operation involves 4 major giants -  Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha & Suzuki. 
 

This presentation of the Burgman Electric scooter solves two purposes for the brand. First, it will work as a demonstration of its upcoming products. Second, the brand is planning to use this opportunity to study and collect data about the usage patterns of its two-wheeler customers. This approach indicates the intention of Suzuki as they will implement this data for the refinement and development of forthcoming electric vehicles. 
 

The Specifications of Suzuki E-Burgman

The new electric Burgman is listed with all of its details on the Japanese website of the brand. Apart from a few changes, the body aesthetics of the vehicle are almost similar to the ICE Burgman Street 125, which is available in the Indian market currently. As per the available information, the E-Burgman will be powered by a 4kW motor, delivering a peak torque of 18Nm. The range of this battery is just 44km. 
 

However, this information is just for the initial phase, as there is a high possibility for them to enhance the final product. It is expected to offer a longer range and advanced motor specifications. Joining the current market trends, we can expect the electric Burgman with features like smartphone connectivity and better security.
