SPIED TESTING: 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R: Here’s Everything We Know So Far

The upcoming Hero Xtreme 160R was recently spotted testing ahead of its launch in the Indian market. However, this is not the first time this bike has been caught. Its early prototypes were spotted back in October 2022. 

The latest leaked images clearly show its body panels, suggesting the launch might be sooner than expected. However, the bike’s major changes were masked due to the camouflage. We are not expecting any significant design changes, given the current model already sports an aggressive styling. 

There is a possibility that the 2023 Xtreme 160R will feature an upgraded instrument cluster with more information to offer. In addition, the bike could also get additional connectivity features.

Hardware on the Xtreme 160R may remain unaltered. It will likely sport the current telescopic forks up front & mono-shock at the rear. The 17-inch alloy wheels may also be carried over to the new model. Braking duties will continue to be performed by the single-channel ABS. 

The 2023 iteration of Hero Xtreme 160R may feature an upgraded engine to deliver higher performance and improved performance.  For reference, the current model comes with a 163cc, air-cooled engine that delivers 15 bhp & 14 Nm of peak torque, which is tuned to a 5-speed gearbox. 

With all these upgrades, the new model might come with a higher price tag, somewhere around - Rs 1.25 Lakh (ex-showroom). It will directly compete with the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V & the Bajaj Pulsar N160. 

As for the launch date, given that Hero MotorCorp is planning to launch a slew of products this year. In which, Karizma XMR 210 is the most anticipated one. The company will likely launch this model either before Karizma XMR 210 or around the end of the year.
