I have been riding the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 for a while now, and honestly, it feels like a big step up from the older version. From the first ride itself, I noticed how much more modern and refined it feels. Also, it works well for both daily commuting and long rides, which was important for me.
I purchased the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 at a price of around Rs 3.06 lakh (ex-showroom) and have had a solid experience so far. What I loved most was its comfort and off-road ability, while refinement and weight could be better. If you're planning to buy one, keep these things in mind.

At first, I was a bit concerned about the weight, since it is around 196 kg. However, once I started riding, it didn’t feel as heavy as I expected. After a few days, I got used to it completely. The upright seating position really helps. The wide handlebars and relaxed posture make long rides very comfortable.
The seat is well-cushioned for the rider. I can ride for hours without feeling tired. However, for the pillion, comfort is just average. In city traffic, the bike is manageable but not the easiest. In tight spaces, I do feel its size. Still, the light clutch and balanced handling make things easier over time.

In the city, the bike feels smooth and easy to ride. I don’t have to change gears frequently because the low-end power is quite strong. Overtaking is also very easy now. I just twist the throttle, and the bike responds quickly.
On highways, this bike really shines. I usually cruise between 90–110 km/h, and it feels very stable at these speeds. Moreover, vibrations are well controlled. There is a slight buzz at higher speeds, but it never becomes uncomfortable.

In my daily city rides, I get around 25–28 km/l. On highways, if I ride calmly, I have seen mileage go up to 30–32 km/l. For mixed usage, I usually get around 27–30 km/l.
The 17-litre fuel tank is quite practical. On full tank, I can easily cover around 450–500 km. This makes it a great option for touring without worrying about frequent fuel stops.

The TFT screen is one of the coolest upgrades on this bike.
It’s bright, smooth, and very easy to read even in sunlight. The navigation system connects with your phone and works quite well, especially if you’re touring or riding in unknown areas.
You also get riding modes and traction control, which actually make a difference when road conditions change.
Switchgear quality is solid and feels premium. At first, it might feel like too many buttons, but once you get used to it, everything is easy to operate.
So if I sum it up for you:
Pros:
Cons:
Overall, the Himalayan 450 feels like a well-rounded upgrade that truly lives up to its adventure tag. If you want a bike that can handle daily rides and long trips easily, this one definitely makes sense.
