Ola Electric is now allowing customers and local mechanics to buy genuine spare parts directly from the brand’s website and app. In addition, the company has announced training modules for mechanics so they can repair Ola’s electric scooters themselves or with their trusted garage. This was shared by the company’s CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, on social media.

How it Works for Users

Now, if you own an Ola scooter, you can log into the company’s website or app and purchase selected spare parts without waiting for a service centre. This means you could fix some mechanical issues yourself or ask a known mechanic to help.

In addition, mechanics can take training, learn how OLA vehicles work, use diagnostic tools, and become certified to work on these scooters. This move helps reduce dependence on Ola service stations, which are busy with a rising number of service requests.

What Parts are Available Right now:

  • Powertrain drive belt (Gen 2) for about Rs 2,942
  • Brake switch – left or right hand (Gen 1/2) for around Rs 253
  • Front wheel hub bearing 6004 (Gen 1) for roughly Rs 130
  • Front wheel hub bearing 6005 (Gen 1) for about Rs 191
  • Rear brake calliper pad kit for approx Rs 614
  • Front brake calliper pad kit for around Rs 640
  • Side stand (Gen 1/2/3) for about Rs 445

Why This Matters

However, servicing an electric-vehicle (EV) scooter is not as simple as a petrol bike. There are many electrical and electronic parts: battery system, motor controller, wiring, that need specialist knowledge. In addition, while the parts list currently covers mostly mechanical components (brakes, stands, belts), Ola is not yet offering battery or motor modules online. So for major repairs, you might still need to visit a service centre.

The Bigger Picture

In addition to helping customers and mechanics, this move is a strategic step for OLA. By selling parts directly, the company expands its spare parts and accessories business. This area can bring better profits. It also helps OLA increase service access beyond its own centres. In addition, it builds a more open, transparent, and easy-to-reach service network.

What to Watch For Next

In the coming months, OLA plans to add more spare parts to its website. It will also launch diagnostic tools and certification programs for mechanics across India. This could bring more parts, more garage partners, and better service support. If everything goes well, OLA owners will have more choice in how and where they service their scooters.
