Simple Energy’s New Family E-Scooter Patent Hints at Big Move

Simple Energy, the Bengaluru-based company known for its sporty electric scooter Simple One, is now preparing to move into more everyday territory. In addition to its performance-oriented models, the brand has filed a design patent for a new family-oriented electric scooter that appears meant for daily use and comfort. Design and Comfort Features

The patent images show a scooter with a flat, long seat designed to fit two people comfortably, and intriguingly, a small backrest for the pillion rider. This suggests the company is focusing more on rider and passenger comfort.

In addition, the front of the scooter features dual LED headlamps integrated with an LED daytime-running light (DRL) across the fairing. The styling is clean and modern rather than aggressive.

The wheels appear as stylish silver alloy units with a five-pointed star pattern. Also, the front suspension uses a telescopic fork setup, which is a good sign for smoother rides in city conditions. 

What’s Under the Hood

However, when it comes to technical details like motor power, battery size, or range, the company is keeping quiet. The patent filing hints that the scooter may be built on a new platform, which means it is not simply a variation of the existing models.

Because of this new base, we might expect some fresh features or a different form factor aimed at practicality and everyday use, rather than outright performance.

Where It Fits in the Market

This shift makes sense because the family-oriented e-scooter segment in India is growing fast. Competitors such as Ather Rizta, Vida VX2 and TVS iQube are already active in this space. Simple Energy’s new scooter seems set to join that race.

As of now, the company hasn’t announced a launch date. Some reports suggest the model could arrive in the second half of 2026. In the meantime, it’s clear that Simple Energy is broadening its focus. If this new scooter delivers on comfort, everyday usability and a sensible price, it could shake up the premium urban scooter market a bit.
