Honda Working on a Next-Generation CBR750R?

Rumours say Honda is working on a next-generation 750 cc sportbike which will be based on the Transalp Adventure motorbike and the all-new CB750 Hornet naked. The bike will allegedly be named following the brand’s sportbike catalogue, CBR750R.

We aren’t surprised by this, though. Multiple brands have been using their single platform to cover a wide range of motorbikes for years now. So it actually makes sense for Honda to get on this boat as well. Especially when its 750 cc platform has been recognised by journalists globally, credits to its potency and versatility. 

And, even though Honda already has a 650 cc in-line 4 engine, the parallel-twin platform is rather different in terms of character and frugality. Above all, we have witnessed a few brands shifting their focus on the twin-cylinder platforms from the in-line 4—for instance, Yamaha Motor India with its MT-07 and R7.

Doing a deep dive research about this in-the-works bike, here’s what we think the bike might look like:

• Will boast an angular bodywork
• The sharp contoured front fascia
• Pointed, upswept tail section
• Exhaust similar to the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade
• Engine and other equipment might share what CB750 Hornet has, which makes 90 bhp and 75 Nm.
• It may feature multiple electronic aids.
