Honda Sales Report Aug 2026: 5.79 Lakh Units Sold, Up 8% YoY

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) recorded total sales of 5,79,162 units in August 2026, registering an 8% year on year growth. The company sold 5,34,861 units during the same month last year. Both domestic sales and exports contributed to the overall growth, with exports showing a stronger increase.

Domestic and Export Sales Pick Up

Honda sold 5,17,329 units in the domestic market in August 2026, compared to 4,81,021 units in August 2025. This marks an 8% growth and shows steady demand for Honda two-wheelers in India.

Meanwhile, exports grew by 15%, reaching 61,833 units compared to 53,840 units in the same month last year. Therefore, international markets also supported Honda's overall sales performance in August.

Honda FY27 Sales Maintain Positive Growth

Honda continued its positive sales trend during the first five months of FY27. The company recorded total sales of 27,33,758 units from April to August 2026, compared to 24,25,391 units during the same period last year. This represents a 13% year on year growth.

Domestic sales reached 24,07,304 units, up 11% from 21,76,345 units in the previous year. In addition, exports increased by 31% to 3,26,454 units, compared to 2,49,046 units last year.

Exports Remain an Important Growth Driver

Honda's export business continued to grow faster than its domestic sales in August. The company recorded 15% growth in exports during the month, while domestic sales increased by 8%.

On a YTD basis, the difference is even clearer, with exports growing 31% compared to 11% growth in domestic sales. As a result, international demand continues to support Honda's overall sales growth in FY27.

Overall Performance Insight

Overall, Honda delivered a positive sales performance in August 2026. Total sales increased by 8%, while exports recorded stronger monthly and YTD growth. Moreover, the company has crossed 27.33 lakh in total sales during April to August 2026, keeping its FY27 sales momentum on track.
