Honda NX500 Review: Better For Adventure Touring Or Not?

The Honda NX500 is the new model from the brand that replaced the CB500X. It is positioned between entry-level adventure bikes. Moreover, the Honda NX500 price is Rs. 5.90 lakhs in India.    
 

Honda NX500 has an engine and performance similar to the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. So, why is the NX500 more expensive? Two main reasons are its extra cylinder and the fact that it is fully imported into India.    
 

Honda NX500 also offers better build quality, advanced technology, and a superior riding experience. It’s designed for those who want a high-end adventure bike. Moreover, this bike is great for adventure touring, making the higher price worth it for many riders.    
 

Honda NX500 Review: Design & Aesthetics   

Honda NX500 looks very different from the CB500X and in a good way. It appears bigger, with a more muscular look around the headlamp and fuel tank, even though the headlamp is smaller. The new upside-down front forks make the bike look more substantial, and the red colour stands out on the road. The design may not appeal to everyone, but it definitely grabs attention.    
 

Furthermore, Honda NX500’s paint finish, plastic panels, and switchgear are all high-quality. The components feel premium and sturdy, almost as good as Honda’s larger bikes. This makes the NX500 look and feel like a top-class motorcycle.    
 

Honda NX500 Review: Comfort & Convenience   

The NX500 is very comfortable for seating. Although the seat height is 830mm, it might seem tall. Getting on the ground is easy. It should be manageable for shorter riders, too. The riding position is upright and neutral, with a large seat that even bigger riders will find comfortable.     
 

The cushioning is good for long rides, making it a reliable touring bike. You can stand up to ride, but it’s not great for off-roading as it feels heavy, and the suspension travel is limited. The suspension is the only disappointment. It handles small bumps well, but larger potholes and speed breakers give a harsh ride. You feel jolts unless you slow down a lot.     
 

Honda NX500 Review: Power & Performance 
  

Honda NX500 has a 471cc parallel-twin engine that makes 47bhp at 8,600rpm and 43Nm at 6,500rpm. It has a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The bike has a diamond-type frame, 41mm upside-down forks, and a five-step adjustable monoshock.     
 

It rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with block-pattern tyres. This Honda bike has 296mm twin discs at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is standard. This setup gives the NX500 good power and performance for both city and highway riding.    
 

Honda NX500 Review: Features & Technology  

The new Honda NX500 features a modern 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and comprehensive information. It now includes switchable traction control and a convenient joystick for navigation. The display is easy to read while riding, thanks to its brightness and positioning. The user interface may seem complicated at first, but it becomes easier with practice.     
 

However, the unusual placement of the turn indicator and horn switches, opposite to most bikes, can be frustrating. Overall, the NX500 offers advanced features and technology, enhancing the riding experience once you get used to the controls.
