Hero MotoCorp has launched a new single-seat variant of the Xtreme 125R in India. The bike is priced at Rs. 1 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it Rs. 2,000 cheaper than the top-spec split-seat ABS variant.
Moreover, with this addition, the Xtreme 125R lineup now includes more options for buyers. This single-seat version is expected to provide better comfort for both rider and pillion, though it misses some sporty appeal.

Hero MotoCorp has come up with the single-seat Xtreme 125R to offer buyers more choice in the 125cc segment. Priced between the IBS and ABS variants, it focuses on improved comfort while retaining the same engine and performance. Hence, this launch also helps the brand compete with rivals like TVS Raider 125 and Bajaj Pulsar N125.
The new single-seat Hero Xtreme 125R is positioned between the split-seat IBS variant and the split-seat ABS variant. The IBS variant is priced at Rs. 98,425, while the ABS split-seat model costs Rs. 1.02 lakh. By placing this version in the middle, Hero offers a balance for buyers who want comfort at a slightly lower cost.
Apart from the seating change, no major updates have been introduced in the new variant. The single-seat setup is designed to improve overall comfort during city rides and longer commutes. However, it does miss out on the sporty and stylish look that the split-seat version provides.
The Hero Xtreme 125R comes with a 124.7cc, air-cooled engine, which makes 11.4 bhp and a peak torque of 10.5 Nm. In addition to the transmission process, the engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox. Therefore, riders can expect smooth performance for both city traffic and open roads.
With the launch of this variant, Hero focuses on strengthening its presence in the 125cc motorcycle segment. Further, the Xtreme 125R single-seat version rivals the TVS Raider 125, Honda CB 125 Hornet, and Bajaj Pulsar N125. In the end, the competitors also focus on youthful design, decent performance, and everyday practicality.
