Government Approves EMPS Scheme Incentives for Greaves Electric Mobility

Published at September 13, 2024 | By BikeJunction

GEMPL has received approval from the Ministry of Heavy Industries for several two-wheelers under its EMPS Scheme. The models include Nexus, Prima, Magnus, and Zeal. In this regard, it would realize the accruing benefits from India's EV demand incentive scheme through the sales of more affordable variants and facilitate sustainable mobility solutions in the country.

GEMPL's Electric Two-Wheelers Approved for EMPS Scheme Incentives

GEMPL stands for Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited, the electric mobility business unit of Greaves Cotton Limited. With approval, the firm's two-wheeler models are now qualified to receive incentives under the EMPS scheme, making the vehicles economical for buyers in India.

Before this, GEMPL had already qualified for similar incentives for their three-wheeler business through a different subsidiary. Moreover, the approval for their 2W models marks a significant step in supporting cleaner transportation for everyday use.

Official Statement of ED & CEO of Greaves Electric Mobility

The ED & CEO of Greaves Electric Mobility, Mr K. Vijaya Kumar, said, "Resuming our place in the EMPS scheme underscores our unwavering commitment to our consumers towards accessible and sustainable mobility solutions. We continue to lead with innovation in India's EV journey."

A Step Forward for EV Adoption

With such permission, Greaves Electric Mobility is in a better position to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles in India. Buying EVs with government initiatives on EMPS is easier for customers with financial support. Hence, customers in larger numbers can afford electric two-wheelers, which would help in moving toward sustainability.

Therefore, the incentive support will be another milestone for Greaves Electric Mobility, underlining the company's efforts to lead India's journey toward cleaner and greener transportation solutions.
