Ducati has launched the updated Hypermotard V2 and Hypermotard V2 SP in India, with prices starting at Rs. 16.53 lakh (ex showroom). The standard V2 costs Rs. 16.53 lakh, while the V2 SP comes at Rs. 20.78 lakh (ex showroom). Both motorcycles receive major updates to their engines, frames, suspension, and electronic features for the 2026 model year (MY26).
The biggest update to the Ducati Hypermotard V2 is its new 890cc, liquid cooled, V twin engine. It produces 120.4 bhp of power and 94 Nm of torque. In addition, it features variable intake valve timing (IVT), which helps deliver a smoother response across the rev range.
Ducati has also redesigned the motorcycle’s frame to reduce its weight. As a result, the standard V2 weighs 13kg less, while the V2 SP weighs 14kg less than the respective previous versions. This weight reduction can help riders handle the motorcycle more easily and improve its overall riding performance.
The standard Hypermotard V2 features a fully adjustable 46mm upside-down Kayaba front fork. It also gets a Kayaba rear monoshock with preload and rebound adjustment. These suspension components allow riders to adjust the setup according to their riding needs.
However, the V2 SP offers more premium suspension hardware. It gets a fully adjustable 48mm Öhlins NIX30 inverted front fork and an Öhlins STX46 rear monoshock. These components give riders more options to adjust the suspension for different riding conditions.
The standard V2 features 17-inch cast light-alloy wheels with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres. It uses Brembo M4.32 brake callipers for braking.
In comparison, the V2 SP gets forged 17-inch aluminium wheels, which help reduce weight. It also features Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres and Brembo M50 brake callipers at both ends.
Both Ducati motorcycles feature a 5 inch TFT instrument console and a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU). In addition, their electronic systems include traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and a quickshifter.
These features help riders manage power delivery and improve control in different riding conditions. Perhaps the combination of lower weight, upgraded hardware, and electronic assistance will make the updated Hypermotard range more appealing to riders looking for a performance-focused motorcycle.
With these updates, Ducati offers two versions of the Hypermotard V2 in India, allowing buyers to choose between the standard model and the more premium SP variant.
