Bajaj may soon introduce two new 400cc Triumph motorcycles

Bajaj is reportedly going to unveil two new 400cc Triumph bikes soon. This partnership seeks to combine Triumph’s classic design with Bajaj’s technology, promising advanced features at attractive prices. The introduction can have a significant impact on the market by providing more efficient and cost-effective options in the mid-tier segment. Fans are eagerly waiting for details on the specifications, price and release dates of these new models.

According to an online report, Bajaj Auto is all set to launch two new 400cc Triumph motorcycles ahead of the festive season. Earlier this year, we mentioned that one of these bikes could be the Thruxton 400, which has been spotted several times. The specifications of the other bike are unknown at this time.
 

Enhanced Appeal and Market Potential

According to spy shots, the Thruxton 400 will be an integral part of the cafe racer bike; the current Speed is visually similar to it. It has a Monza fairing identical to the Thruxton R, clip-on handlebars, and a flat pillion grab rail. These changes, especially the fairing, make the bike look bigger compared to the Speed 400. However, the engine, chassis, suspension, wheels, brakes, fuel tank, under-seat panel, and other features are similar to those on the Speed 400.
 

With Indian riders, especially younger ones, strongly demanding a decent motorcycle, the Thruxton 400 is expected to do well commercially upon launch. Still, its success will also depend on Bajaj’s pricing strategy. According to online reports, the new bikes will come with the latest specifications and prices. If Bajaj prices the Thruxton 400 slightly more expensive than the Speed 400 but lower than the Scrambler 400 X, it could be a very exciting option.
 

To support upcoming models, Bajaj plans to increase production of Triumph motorcycles from 5,000 units to 10,000 units. Moreover, it is expected to be expanded by October 2024. It remains to be seen what number of models it will be two that will use Triumph's 400cc platform
 

Currently, Triumph’s entry-level lineup in India includes the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, priced at Rs. 2.24 lakh and Rs. 2.54 lakh, respectively (both prices are ex-showroom).
