Bajaj Dominar 400 Now Available at the Biggest Discount with new Price of Rs 1.99 Lakh

Recently, Bajaj Auto announced that their iconic Dominar 400 will now be sold at an astounding discount of Rs 25,000. Bajaj Dominar 400 is now available at Rs 1,99,991 at select dealers.

Dominar 400, when first launched, was for Rs 1.36 lakh in India. However, over the years, prices have seen multiple rises along with additions of features and equipment. As a result, the bike has been reputed to be the ideal blend of power and affordability. 

But, unfortunately, even after a lower price and hi-tech features, this bike has been underperforming in many ways. The sales of Dominar 250 have seen a better number than Dominar 400 ever did. Another interesting observation is that Dominar 400 exports have always been higher than its domestic sales. 

There are theories that the current auto company discounts might be an instance of price correction. As you may remember, the cost of two-wheelers has risen several times over the past two years. Moreover, after the epidemic, demand increased significantly. 

Therefore, introducing discount programmes may be a wise move in the situation of low-volume products. An excellent illustration is the Honda CB300F, whose prices were cut by Rs 50k in December of last year. With this substantial price reduction, the CB300F is now comparable in price to bikes like the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Dominar 250.

There are rumours that other OEMs may implement special offers and discounts to boost sales as BS6 Phase 2 norms take effect on April 1, 2023. It remains to be seen if that is accurate. However, when selling bikes with a large inventory and slow sales, it may be effective. The reduction for the Dominar 400 may also be the result of upcoming competitors like the TVS Apache RTR 310.
