Ampere has crossed 400,000 cumulative scooter sales in India. This milestone shows the growing demand for electric scooters in the country. In addition, more people now look for affordable travel options as fuel prices continue to rise.

The company, which operates under Greaves Electric Mobility, has also reported strong growth. It recorded a 51 per cent year-on-year growth in FY26. Moreover, its market share has increased to 4.4 percent from 3.6 percent last year.

Strong Growth Driven by Customer Demand

These sales numbers include both high-speed and low-speed electric scooters. However, low-speed models often do not appear in official VAHAN data. Still, they play an important role in the company’s total sales.

Vikas Singh, Managing Director, Greaves Electric Mobility, said, “Crossing the 4-lakh milestone reflects growing customer trust in Ampere and validates our focus on delivering dependable, value-driven electric mobility in the sub-₹1 lakh segment.”

In addition, he spoke about the future of electric vehicles. “The next phase of EV growth in India will be driven by practical, mass-market solutions,” he said.

Focus on Affordable Mobility

Ampere continues to focus on simple and cost-effective mobility solutions. Perhaps this strategy helps the brand attract daily commuters. Rising fuel prices also push more people to switch to electric scooters for regular use.

In addition, Ampere electric scooters use lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology in their scooters. This battery type offers better safety and a longer life compared to traditional options.

Expansion of Network and Reach

The company has also expanded its dealer and service network. Its retail presence has grown by 12 percent in FY26. Because of this, more customers can now access Ampere products and services across cities and smaller markets. Some of the Ampere products that have gained popularity among Indian consumers include Ampere Reo & Ampere Magnus Neo.

In conclusion, Ampere’s growth shows a clear shift toward electric mobility in India. With better reach and useful products, the brand may continue to grow in the coming years.
