Yamaha EC-06

The Yamaha EC 06 carries the River Indie’s proven base, but its riding feel has its own character. Its 6.7 kW motor responds well when traffic suddenly creates a short opening for an overtake. At 132 kg, I could make quick line changes without the scooter feeling nervous when the road narrowed unexpectedly. The 145 mm ground clearance also helped when moving from a smooth road onto a steep, broken entry. Its upright riding position gave me enough room to shift my body when the road required small steering corrections.

• The vertically stacked LED headlight gives the front a clear identity without adding too many design elements. I could also see the light pattern clearly when entering a road with uneven street lighting. It made changes in the road surface easier to spot while riding.

The claimed range is the part I would look at first for longer routes. I also liked the way the suspension and brakes respond when the road suddenly changes. Overall, the EC 06 electric scooter works well for riders who want a calm scooter with strong range.
