Yamaha has launched the much-awaited XSR155 in India at an introductory price of Rs 1,49,990 (ex-showroom). This motorcycle brings a fresh retro charm to the 150–160cc segment while using the proven performance setup from the MT-15 and R15.
The bike perfectly combines old-school styling with modern-day hardware, which makes it ideal for young riders. Let’s know more about it in simple and easy-going english.

Notably, the Yamaha XSR155 features a round LED headlamp, teardrop tank, and flat, single-piece seat. The styling on the tank is completed with the Yamaha name spelled out in bold, adding to the retro feel. The bike also gets a round LED tail lamp and a simple LCD digital console.
It is available in four colour options: Metallic Blue, Vivid Red, Metallic Grey, and Greyish Green Metallic. Yamaha also offers two official accessory packs, including Scrambler and Café Racer, that let owners personalise their XSR155 for a unique look.
The XSR155 features the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine seen on the R15 and MT-15. It puts out 18.4 hp at 10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with an assist-and-slipper clutch for smooth and light gear shifts. The Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology ensures strong low-end response and lively top-end performance. This makes it fun in both city rides and short highway runs.
The XSR155 boasts Yamaha's Deltabox frame with upside-down forks at the front and a linked-type monoshock at the back. This results in excellent stability and keen handling. The aluminum swingarm keeps weight low at 137 kg, which makes this bike easy to use through traffic and a joy on the twisties. It also comes with dual-channel ABS and traction control for safety and confidence.
