Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch its new electric scooter, the VIDA VX2, in India on July 1, 2025. The company will introduce a new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, where the scooter’s battery cost is separate from the vehicle price. This model will allow customers to pay for the battery on a monthly subscription basis, helping reduce the initial cost of ownership.
The subscription plan will give buyers the option to choose payment plans based on their usage. With this move, Hero aims to make electric vehicles more affordable and attract more city riders who want to switch from petrol scooters.

VIDA customers will have access to a nationwide charging and service network. Hero MotoCorp has set up over 3,600 fast-charging stations and 500 service points in more than 100 cities. This large network will help new EV riders charge and maintain their scooters easily.
With better availability of charging stations, buyers can now use their scooters without worrying about running out of power. The company is clearly focusing on making daily use smoother for electric two-wheeler owners.
The VIDA VX2 is a more affordable version of the Vida Z electric scooter seen at the 2025 Auto Expo. It will be positioned below the Vida V2 lineup and will likely come in three variants – Lite, Plus, and Pro.
To reduce costs, the VX2 will get a smaller TFT screen instead of a touchscreen display and simpler body panels. The VX2 will also feature a single-piece seat, which is different from the split seat on the Vida V2. Even with these changes, the scooter will use the same removable battery setup as the Vida V2.
Depending on the variant, the battery capacity will range between 2.2 kWh and 3.9 kWh. The claimed range can go up to 165 km on a full charge. These details make the VX2 suitable for daily rides in cities.
The VIDA VX2 is looking forward to start at around ₹65,000 (ex-showroom), excluding the battery cost. This pricing makes it one of the lowest-priced electric scooters in Hero’s portfolio. The scooter is perfect for urban buyers looking for a budget-friendly option with monthly payment flexibility.
With this launch, Hero MotoCorp plans to boost EV sales in India. The company will announce the final details of pricing and plans on the launch date. The VX2 is part of Hero’s larger strategy to offer practical electric solutions to Indian riders.
