TVS Launches New XL100 Heavy Duty Alloy Variant in India

The TVS XL100 has been one of the most loved mopeds in India for decades. It has been a dependable choice for both urban and rural users. Now, TVS Motor Company has refreshed this legendary two-wheeler with a brand-new top-spec variant called the XL100 Heavy Duty Alloy, priced at Rs 59,800 (ex-showroom).

The XL100 Heavy Duty Alloy is available in three attractive colours, including Red, Blue, and Grey. So now the XL100 lineup includes five different variants, which makes it easier for buyers to pick the one that suits their needs best.

Alloy Wheels and Tubeless Tyres

For the very first time, the XL100 comes with 16-inch alloy wheels. These not only give the moped a fresh look but also make it more durable compared to traditional spoke wheels. The alloy wheels are fitted with tubeless tyres, which means puncture repairs will be much easier and less time-consuming.

Added Features for Convenience

The new XL100 Heavy Duty Alloy variant also brings along an LED headlight, which improves visibility at night. In addition, TVS has equipped it with a Type-A USB charging port so that riders can easily charge their phones on the go.

Other practical features include an engine kill switch, an electric starter for hassle-free ignition, and the detachable rear seat, which has always been one of the XL100’s unique strengths. Riders also get a large floorboard and a black muffler for a tougher, more stylish look.

Engine and Performance

The moped continues with the same 99.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It produces around 4.3 hp of power and 6.5 Nm of torque, paired with a single-speed gearbox. The top speed is 58 kmph, which is more than enough for city rides and small-town roads.

The XL100 Heavy Duty Alloy weighs just 89 kg and carries a 4-litre fuel tank. Its lightweight build makes it extremely easy to handle, even for first-time riders. TVS also says that due to its ETFi technology, this version offers up to 15% more mileage, which is another strong point for cost-conscious buyers.
