TVS Motor Company has launched the 2025 version of the Apache RTR 160 in India. This new model introduces two key updates: OBD-2B emission compliance and dual-channel ABS. Both are great news for riders who want more safety and better performance.
This motorcycle is priced from Rs 1.34 lakh, and it costs just Rs 4,000 more than the older top-end version. Let’s explore what makes this new Apache RTR 160 a smart choice for everyday riders.
The biggest change in the 2025 Apache RTR 160 is its new OBD-2B compliant engine. This means the bike now follows the latest emission rules. It also means the bike can tell you if there’s a problem with the engine or pollution. This helps you fix issues early and avoid bigger trouble later.
The second big update is dual-channel ABS. Most bikes in this segment offer only single-channel ABS. The dual-channel ABS means the bike prevents wheel lock-up on both the front and rear wheels. This gives you better safety while braking, especially on wet or rough roads.
Moreover, TVS has updated the look a little. The red alloy wheels really stand out. The body design stays mostly the same but still looks sharp and sporty. The front headlamp design is unique, and the tank shrouds give it a muscular feel. Apart from this, the motorcycle comes in Matte Black and Pearl White colours.
The Apache RTR 160 is equipped with a 159.7cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It makes 15.82 bhp and 13.85 Nm of torque. These numbers are good for both city rides and weekend fun. The engine is connected to a 5-speed gearbox that shifts smoothly.
The bike uses a strong double-cradle frame. The suspension setup includes telescopic front forks and gas-charged dual shock absorbers at the back. This gives you a comfortable ride on city roads and bumpy areas.
TVS has also added useful technology in the new Apache RTR 160. It now gets a fully digital LCD instrument cluster. This screen is not just for speed and fuel. It supports Bluetooth through TVS SmartXonnect. You can connect your phone, see call and message alerts, and even get turn-by-turn navigation.
There are also three ride modes, including Sport, Urban, and Rain. These modes help you ride smart, based on road and weather conditions.
