Suzuki Motorcycle India has officially entered the electric two-wheeler space with the launch of its first electric scooter, the Suzuki e-Access. It is priced at Rs 1.88 lakh (ex-showroom). The new EV is now open for bookings across the country, with deliveries expected to begin soon. The e-Access was first showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo last year, and after nearly a year of anticipation, it has finally reached Indian roads.

The e-Access is built on Suzuki’s in-house electric platform, known as e-Technology. At its core is a 3.07 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery. Suzuki claims this battery type offers a longer service life compared to conventional battery packs. The scooter delivers a claimed IDC range of 95 km on a single charge, which should be suitable for daily city travel. However, compared to some rivals offering larger battery packs, the range may feel slightly limited.
Charging the e-Access is also designed to be convenient. Using a portable AC charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in about 4 hours and 30 minutes. In addition, DC fast-charging support is available at more than 240 Suzuki outlets, allowing quicker top-ups for users on the go.
The e-Access has a 4.1 kW electric motor that produces 15 Nm of torque. It comes with three riding modes: Eco, Ride A, and Ride B, which allow riders to choose between efficiency and performance. In addition, the scooter gets regenerative braking and a reverse assist mode, which should help in tight parking spaces.
Suzuki also claims that throttle response remains consistent even when the battery charge is low. Perhaps this will help address one of the common concerns among EV users. A belt drive system is used for the final drive, which is designed for minimal maintenance and long-term durability.
In terms of styling, the e-Access carries a modern design with LED lighting and two-tone alloy wheels. The company has also introduced a new dual-tone colour option, including Metallic Matte Stellar Blue with Metallic Matte Fibroin Grey.
Inside, the scooter features a fully digital display with Bluetooth connectivity, app support, and a USB charging port. In addition, the battery is housed in an aluminium case integrated into the chassis, which helps improve stability and handling.
At Rs 1.88 lakh, the Suzuki e-Access sits on the higher side of the segment. It competes with models like the Ather Rizta, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak, many of which are priced lower. However, Suzuki is offering an extended 7-year or 80,000 km warranty and a buy-back assurance of 60 percent for three years, which could attract early buyers.
