Royal Enfield plans to continue its growth with higher production targets for the financial year 2027. The company aims to produce around 1.28 to 1.32 million motorcycles. This target shows a growth of nearly 6 percent over the previous year.
The company already crossed 1.2 million total dispatches in the financial year 2026. In addition, domestic sales crossed the 1 million mark, which highlights strong demand. However, the brand still faces competition from global players like Triumph, Harley-Davidson, and Honda.
Despite this competition, Royal Enfield continues to perform better than the overall motorcycle market. Perhaps this growth comes from its focus on the mid-size segment. The company now aims to cross 1.2 million domestic sales in the coming year.
The 350cc motorcycle range remains the main driver of Royal Enfield’s success. Models in this segment contributed more than 10.87 lakh units in the last financial year.
In addition, these motorcycles grew faster than higher capacity models. This shows strong customer interest in practical and affordable premium bikes. However, the company also continues to expand its larger engine lineup gradually.
Domestic volumes grew by 23%, reaching 1.11 million units. At the same time, exports also increased by 23%, showing balanced growth. This steady rise helped the brand improve its market share to 5.18%.
Royal Enfield has also entered the electric motorcycle space with the new Flying Flea C6. This model marks a major step in the company’s future plans.
The electric bike comes at a price of Rs 2.79 lakh. However, buyers can choose a battery subscription option, which lowers the cost to Rs 1.99 lakh. In addition, deliveries will begin from the end of May.
The company plans to launch the model in phases, starting with Bengaluru. Perhaps this approach will help manage demand and improve customer experience. The Flying Flea C6 focuses on city riding with modern design and connected features.
Royal Enfield anticipates that the high-end motorcycle market will expand at a higher rate than the overall market. The company feels that the industry could increase by high single digits this year. Nonetheless, the high end segment may experience greater growth with an increase in the demand for lifestyle motorcycles. Moreover, this trend may be backed by new products and globally.
