The 2026 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R has become more expensive in India after the rollout of GST 2.0. Earlier priced at ₹19.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the superbike now costs Rs 20.79 lakh due to the new 40% tax slab for bikes above 350cc. This sharp increase means the on-road price will also rise significantly in most cities.

Interestingly, just weeks before the GST 2.0 reforms came into effect on September 22, Kawasaki had launched the 2026 ZX-10R at Rs 19.49 lakh. That was already about Rs 99,000 more than the 2025 model, mainly for new colours.
However, after GST 2.0, the price jumped again by Rs 1.30 lakh, taking the ZX-10R’s cost from Rs 18.50 lakh to Rs 20.79 lakh within a single month. This is a huge increase for buyers who were planning to get the bike around this time.
The ZX-10R remains the most affordable 1,000cc superbike in India. The main reason is that Kawasaki imports it via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route, which attracts lower import duties. In contrast, rivals like the BMW S 1000 RR or Ducati Panigale V4 come through the CBU (Completely Built Up) route, which makes them much more expensive.
The ZX-10R is essentially the same model that received major updates in 2021 to meet Euro 5 norms. It continues to use a 999cc inline-four engine that delivers 205hp and 112Nm. This makes it the most affordable 200hp bike in India, even after the price hike.
In terms of features, the bike continues to offer a lot for its price. It comes with ride modes, dual-channel ABS, cruise control, launch control, engine brake control, and traction control. All these features are controlled through menus on a colour TFT display, which gives the bike a modern feel.
Furthermore, Kawasaki uses Showa BFF forks at the front and a Showa BFRC monoshock at the rear. The bike comes with twin front discs and a rear disc, offering solid performance.
