Honda’s Big Bet on 10 New Electric Two-Wheelers For India

• Honda has ten new electric vehicles in the works

• An electric version of Activa to debut in 2024

• Swappable batteries will also be offered

Honda is about to reveal its EV plans for India soon. However, some of the information has already been spilled. A report claims that the Japanese company intends to introduce ten electric vehicles in the Indian market. 

The first one is expected to be the Activa electric. Honda is planning to launch the new electric Activa in the first half of the next year. This Activa electric is expected to have a fixed battery setup, but some other products are speculated to have swappable battery options.

K4BA is the codename for an electric moped that Honda is developing. It will use a battery-swapping service that Honda started in 2021 and is currently used by electric auto rickshaws. The moped is likely to launch in 2023.

Unlike other big two-wheeler companies in India, Honda has not been very active in the EV market. But the company will change that from next year onwards. Honda’s EV plans will be announced on March 29, and then we will see how aggressive the company will be in the Indian EV space.
