Piaggio 3-Wheeled Scooter Getting Launched Soon With Airbags

Piaggio intends to add airbags (an exclusive car safety feature) to its renowned MP3 three-wheeled scooter. Accordingly, the business and its airbag partner have filed a patent for this safety application.

At the 2022 EICMA in late 2017, the Italian company displayed an airbag prototype on the MP3 350. It appears that this feature was highly welcomed, so the business opted to move forward with its future planning.

In accordance with the patent application, a large airbag is positioned close to the rider's knee area under the handlebar. This airbag inflates through plastic gaps, just like the ones in cars. The airbag is actuated by an inflator and a gas generator, which deploys. This wide, enormous airbag is placed directly in front of the rider to absorb the force of the collision. However, this system only functions in case of crashes in the front 0f the vehicle. 

Only the Honda Goldwing motorbike is available with airbags right now. However, consumers will find it simpler to embrace such technology now that Piaggio has entered the airbag market, even though it will be expensive.
