Honda is finally ready to launch its first electric scooter, the Honda Activa Electric. The launch event is scheduled for November 27. Honda has sent invites to the media, saying, “Watts Ahead.” This is Honda’s way of teasing the upcoming electric scooter. Many people are excited, and the Activa Electric is highly awaited. Let’s know more about this upcoming electric scooter from Honda.
Honda Activa Electric will be like the Activa 110 in terms of performance. It may offer a range of about 100 Km on a full charge. Some people believe the Activa Electric may have a fixed battery. However, there is also a chance it may offer a removable battery. Moreover, the scooter will likely have a strong frame to fit both the battery and motor. For a smooth ride, it may have telescopic forks in front and a monoshock at the rear. Apart from this, the scooter may come with a front disc brake and a rear drum brake for safer stopping.
Activa Electric will face competition from other brands. These include TVS, Bajaj, Hero, and newer companies like Ather and Ola. These brands already have electric scooters in the market. Honda is a bit late, but many people trust the Honda Activa brand. This new electric Activa may also have digital features, like a display that shows speed and battery level. Furthermore, it may even connect to smartphones and has a bigger storage space than the regular Activa.
Honda is starting its journey in electric scooters with the Activa Electric. The company has other electric models planned for India, too. In the future, Honda may offer scooters with fixed and swappable batteries. Honda’s electric scooter for Europe, the Honda CUV E, has removable batteries. Honda may try similar options in India one day.
