Hero Glamour X vs Glamour Xtec: Major Differences to Know

Hero MotoCorp recently launched the Glamour X, which is introduced as the most feature-packed 125cc motorcycle in India. The motorcycle sits above the Glamour Xtec, but both bikes come with significant differences in design, features, and pricing. 
 

Both motorcycles carry the Glamour name, but they are made for different types of 125cc buyers. Here’s a complete breakdown of the major differences between Hero Glamour X and Glamour Xtec.
 

Positioning in the 125cc segment

The Glamour X and Glamour Xtec are designed for different types of riders in the 125cc category. While the Glamour X focuses on premium features and a modern appeal, the Glamour Xtec aims at practicality and affordability. This makes Hero’s strategy clear, offering choices for buyers who either seek style or everyday commuter comfort.
 

Styling Differences

In terms of looks, the Hero Glamour X brings a sharper and more modern appeal than the Glamour Xtec. The Glamour X features revised LED headlamp and taillamp clusters with a unique H-shaped LED element. Moreover, the motorcycle sports new tank shrouds designed to resemble an ‘X’, adding to its aggressive stance. In addition to that, it also comes with a single-piece grab rail and a larger windscreen.
 

On the other hand, the Glamour Xtec appears more subtle with cleaner body lines and a smaller conventional windscreen. It also gets split grab rails for the pillion, which highlight a simpler design approach. Therefore, between the two, the Glamour X appears bolder while the Glamour Xtec continues with a balanced and practical look.
 

Features on Offer

The Hero Glamour X takes the lead in features, offering a segment-first ride-by-wire throttle with three riding modes. Moreover, it includes cruise control, panic brake alert, turn-by-turn navigation, and an LCD display with Bluetooth support. However, these premium features such as cruise control and panic brake alert are limited to the disc brake variant only.
 

In contrast, the Glamour Xtec has a simpler instrument cluster with Bluetooth for call and SMS alerts. It does not feature turn-by-turn navigation and misses advanced safety systems. In addition to that, both motorcycles share USB charging support for everyday practicality.
 

Hardware and Dimensions

Mechanically, the two motorcycles are very similar as they use the same telescopic front fork and rear twin shock absorbers. Moreover, both continue with a braking setup consisting of a 240 mm disc or a 130 mm drum option. However, Hero has not confirmed the exact braking details for the Glamour X, but it is expected to match the Xtec.
 

In terms of dimensions, the Glamour X has a seat height of 790 mm with 180 mm ground clearance. Therefore, while both are comfortable commuters, the Glamour Xtec offers slightly more clearance.
 

Powertrain Details

Both motorcycles use the same 124.7cc air-cooled engine but deliver different performance outputs. The Glamour Xtec produces 10.7 bhp and 10.6 Nm torque, while the Glamour X generates 11.40 bhp and 10.5 Nm. Moreover, both motorcycles are paired with a 5-speed gearbox, ensuring smooth power delivery in city and highway conditions.
 

Price Comparison

Hero Glamour X is priced at Rs. 90,000 for the Drum variant and Rs. 1 lakh for the Disc variant. In contrast, the Glamour Xtec is positioned differently, with the Drum variant priced at Rs. 87,998. Moreover, its Disc variant costs Rs 92,598, which makes it more affordable compared to the Glamour X Disc. Therefore, the price gap reflects the premium features offered with the Glamour X.
