FADA Sales Report May 2024: 2-Wheeler Sales Increased By 2.48%, 1,534,856 Units Sold

FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations) has announced its May 2024 sales report that registered a YoY increase of 2.48 % and a MoM decline of 6.61 %. 

In May 2024, the industry clocked in a total sales volume of 1,534,856 units, whereas in May 2023, the industry saw sales of 1,497,778 units. This resulted in a 2.48% increase in YoY growth. However, a 6.61% decline in MoM sales is seen as in April 2024 sales figures were 1,643,510 units.

Top 3 Highest 2-Wheeler OEMs Sales Figures & Market Share

Hero MotoCorp LTD, yet again, took the crown of selling the highest number of 2-wheelers in May 2024. The manufacturer reported a total sales volume of 445,838 units last month. However, as compared to last year’s same month, the company sold 531,037 units, translating into a YOY sales decline of 16.04%. Moreover, the company has experienced a decline in its market share by 18.07%. 

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India took the next spot, right after Hero MotoCorp. The company experienced a total sales unit of 390,924 in May 2024, leading to a 44.62% rise in its YoY sales growth when compared to 270,305 sales numbers registered in May 2023. In terms of market share, the company experienced an impressive increase of 41.13%.

TVS Motor Company Ltd took the 3rd position, registering a total sales unit of 263,293 in May 2024, marking an impressive YoY growth of 4.07% compared to May 2023's sales figures of 253,004. Subsequently, the company also experienced an increase in its market share by 1.55% in May 2024.

Top 3 EV Manufacturers With Highest 2-Wheeler Sales Figures & Market Share

In May 2024, Ola Electric, as usual, took the first position in the electric two-wheeler market for selling the highest number of EVs. The company reported total sales figures of 37,225 in May 2024, marking a whopping growth of 29.51% when compared to May 2023 sales figures of 28,742 units. Moreover, the company also gained a market share rise of 26.39%. 

Ather Energy Pvt Ltd took the next position after Ola Electric by selling 6,045 units in May 2024. For comparison, the company registered sales of 15,430 units in May 2023, reporting a decline of 60.82%. Moreover, on the market share front, the company also experienced a decline of 61.77% this month.

Last but not least, the third position on the list is held by Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd for May 2024. The company clocked in a total sales unit of 3,033 in May 2024, as compared to 2,857 units sold in May 2023. Due to this, the company saw a decent increase of 6.16% this month. Apart from this, the company also experienced an increase in its market share by 3.60% for May 2024.
