Ducati India has teased the Desmo450 MX on social media. The launch in India seems close and this bike will be Ducati’s first production motocross model. It is based on the brand’s factory race bike. That race bike competed in the 2024 Italian motocross championship.
The Desmo450 MX is not street legal. Riders can use it only on closed tracks. It targets professional racers and serious enthusiasts.

The bike uses a 450cc single-cylinder engine. It produces 64 bhp at 9,400 rpm and peak torque stands at 53.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm. Moreover, the engine revs up to 11,900 rpm.
It features Ducati’s desmodromic valve system, which controls valve movement with high precision. It remains unique in this segment. The engine uses titanium intake valves and steel exhaust valves. It comes paired with a five-speed gearbox with quickshifter for faster gear shifts.
Ducati has built the bike on a light aluminium frame. The chassis balances strength and low weight. This setup improves control during jumps and in sharp corners.
The bike uses a 49 mm Showa upside-down fork at the front and a fully adjustable rear monoshock. Riders can tune both units as needed. The motorcycle also gets a 260 mm front disc and rear uses a 240 mm disc.
It rides on a 21-inch front wheel and 19-inch rear wheel, fitted with Pirelli Scorpion MX32 mid-soft tyres.
The Desmo450 MX offers traction control. It also gets engine brake control and launch control. In addition, it offers two riding modes. These features help manage power delivery.
Ducati may price the bike between Rs. 12–13 lakh ex-showroom. Once launched, it will rival the Kawasaki KX450 and will expand Ducati’s off-road presence in India.
