Bajaj Pulsar 150 First Ride Review: How Does It Feel on the Road?

The Bajaj Pulsar 150 has received more than a visual update for 2026. Bajaj has changed its engine, gearbox, frame, and rear suspension setup. I rode the new model through city roads before taking it onto the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. 

The motorcycle uses a 149.5cc engine producing 13.80 PS and 14.1 Nm. It also gets a new diamond type frame, monoshock suspension, and a 5 speed gearbox. The biggest change, however, becomes clear when the motorcycle starts moving. The new model has a different weight and power delivery compared with the earlier Pulsar 150. 

A Lighter Pulsar 150 Changes the First Impression

During my Bajaj Pulsar 150 Riding Experience, the first thing I noticed was the weight difference. The new Pulsar 150 is around 9 kg lighter than the previous model, making the new motorcycle easier to handle. 

This immediately changed how the motorcycle responded to steering inputs and direction changes. It did not feel like the old Pulsar 150 with a few new features added. Power is almost similar to what I expected from this new model, but the torque delivery has changed. 

The New Engine Has a Different Way of Building Speed

The Pulsar 150 engine performance was the biggest part of my first ride. I noticed that this Bajaj Bike builds speed differently through the gears. Each gear change brings a noticeable increase in speed instead of making the engine feel strained.

This became even clearer on the Mumbai Pune Expressway. The longer gearing allows the motorcycle to carry speed without making frequent gear changes. 

Crawl Mode Works Differently Than a Normal Low Speed Ride

Crawl Mode is designed to help the motorcycle move at low speeds with reduced throttle input. Bajaj has introduced this technology for situations such as slow moving traffic.

In third gear, the motorcycle moved at around 18 to 20 km/h without needing the same level of throttle input. In fifth gear, it moved around 25 to 26 km/h.

This made slow moving traffic easier to manage. What I liked was that the motorcycle did not feel nervous at these speeds. 

City Roads Showed Why the Riding Position Still Works

The riding triangle has not changed dramatically, which became clear during my Bajaj Pulsar 150 First Ride. The relationship between the handlebar, seat, and steering position felt right throughout the city ride. I did not need to keep adjusting my posture while moving through urban roads.

Seat height also felt appropriate for me, especially when slowing down or coming to a stop. From a Bajaj Pulsar 150 riding review perspective, this familiar riding position works well because it does not take time to get comfortable with.

Bajaj Pulsar 150 Ride Experience on Highway

The Bajaj Pulsar 150 top speed is claimed at 115 km/h. During my highway ride, the motorcycle continued building speed smoothly. Furthermore, the braking response was consistent throughout my ride. In city traffic, the brakes allowed controlled slowing before turns and traffic gaps. On the expressway, the response remained predictable when reducing speed.

The motorcycle I rode was equipped with single channel ABS. The braking system therefore did not require a major adjustment during the ride. The response remained easy to judge through both city and highway sections. Additionally, the mileage was around 47 kmpl. This was my observed figure and can vary depending on traffic, riding style, and road conditions.

New Bajaj Pulsar 150 Review: Final Verdict

My Bajaj Pulsar first ride review showed that this new Pulsar 150 is a major change from the earlier motorcycle. The new engine and frame immediately change the riding experience. 

The low end torque, smooth gearbox, and crawl mode worked particularly well in the city. The riding triangle also felt natural and comfortable. Highway riding revealed another side of the motorcycle. The extra power and controlled vibrations made open road riding enjoyable.

It feels like a more responsive and refined 150 cc bike. Riders willing to increase their budget can consider this Bajaj bike for its stronger performance and broader riding ability.
