Bajaj has updated its cruiser lineup again, bringing a major change for Avenger buyers in India. The company has removed the Avenger Street 160 discontinued update from its official website without any announcement recently. At the same time, the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 return has brought back a familiar option after a gap. Therefore, the current Bajaj cruiser lineup update now focuses only on the 220cc platform for buyers. This move shows a clear shift towards better 220cc cruiser performance and highway ability.
The Avenger lineup now includes only the 220cc models after the removal of the Street 160 version. Therefore, buyers now get a more powerful engine as standard across the entire cruiser range. However, the absence of a lower capacity option may affect entry level buyers in this segment. The expected Avenger Street 220 price in India will likely stay below the Cruise variant for better reach. Currently, the Cruise version is priced at around Rs 1.29 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.

The Avenger Street 160 is no longer part of the lineup from Bajaj Auto. The company has quietly removed it from the official website without sharing any formal update publicly. However, this decision ends the entry level cruiser bike option within the Avenger range for new buyers. In addition, the smaller engine option is now completely discontinued from the Street lineup, affecting those looking for a 160cc cruiser bike in India.

The Bajaj Avenger Street 220 has returned after being discontinued earlier in 2020. Its presence on the official website confirms that the Avenger Cruise 220 launch update is now active again. Moreover, it now sits alongside the Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise as part of the current range. There is no launch event yet, however, the listing itself confirms availability soon for buyers looking at a Bajaj 220cc cruiser bike.
The Street 220 continues with the same 220cc oil cooled single cylinder engine seen in the Cruise model. It produces 19PS of power & 17.6Nm torque, paired with a 5 speed gearbox. In comparison, the older Street 160 used a smaller 160.4cc engine with lower output figures. Hence, the shift ensures a more consistent Avenger 220 engine performance across the entire Avenger range.
The design of the cruise 220 remains similar to its earlier version without major visual changes. It keeps a low slung cruiser stance with blacked out elements and alloy wheels for urban appeal. Moreover, the bike will come in red and black colour choices for buyers. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks and twin rear shock absorbers. Braking setup includes a front disc and rear drum, supported by single channel ABS, matching standard cruiser bike features in India.
