Bajaj Auto October 2023: Total Sales Growth 19% YoY, Export Declined!

In October 2023, Bajaj Auto saw a noteworthy surge in total domestic sales. However, exports witnessed a decline. The company reported a 19% YoY growth in total sales (2W+CV) for October, while YTD sales also increased by 3% during April-October 2023. 
 

Bajaj Auto YoY Sales October 2023

Bajaj Auto Limited sold a total (2W+CV) of 4,71,188 units in October 2023 compared to 3,95,238 units sold in October 2022. This improvement in sales resulted in a 19% YoY growth. Speaking of only two-wheeler sales, the company sold 2,78,486 units last month as opposed to 2,06,131 units sold in October 2022, resulting in 35% growth. In addition, the company witnessed a MoM growth compared to 2,02,510 units sold in September 2023.

Bajaj Pulsar range contributed the most to the company’s sales, with over 1.61 Lakhs units sold during the month. The total 2-wheeler sales witnessed 19% growth, with 4,08,144 units sold this month compared to 3,41,903 units sold in October 2022. However, exports fell 5% YoY, with 1,29,658 units exported last month compared to 1,35,772 units exported in October 2022.

Speaking of the domestic market, commercial vehicle sales also increased by 39%, with 51,132 units sold in October 2023 compared to 36,786 units sold in October 2022. This resulted in the company’s highest domestic CV sales. However, exports witnessed a fall of 28%, with 11,912 units exported last month compared to 16,549 units exported in October 2022. On a YoY basis, total CV sales improved by 18%, with 63,044 units sold compared to 53,335 units sold.

Total 2W & CV sales witnessed a 19% YoY growth with 4,71,188 units sold. The domestic market witnessed a 36% YoY growth, with 3,29,618 units sold in October 2023. The domestic market witnessed the sale of 2,42,917 units in October 2022. However, exports witnessed a fall of 7%, with 1,41,570 units exported compared to 1,52,321 units exported YoY. 
 

Bajaj Auto YTD Sales April-October 2023

There was a positive streak witnessed across 2-wheeler domestic sales on a YTD basis with 16% growth. The company sold 13,26,737 units in the April-October 2023 period compared to 11,41,683 units sold last year. However, two-wheelers exports witnessed a fall of 20%. The company exported 8,52,320 units in the April – October 2023 period compared to 10,66,412 units exported last year. On a YTD basis, total two-wheeler sales were down by 1%, with 21,79,057 units sold compared to 22,08,095 last year. 
 

Bajaj Auto also witnessed growth of 90% in domestic CV sales, with 2,81,993 units sold in April-October 2023. The company sold 48,445 units in the same period of 2022. However, exports witnessed a fall of 26%, with 91,498 units exported in the first 7 months of 2023. The company exported 1,23,356 units in the April-October 2022 period. Overall, total CV sales ended positively, witnessing 37% growth with 3,73,491 units sold. The company sold 2,71,801 units in the 2022 period. 
 

Total (2W + CV) sales in the domestic market witnessed a growth of 3% YoY, with 25,52,548 units in October 2023 compared to 24,79,896 units sold last year. This also marked higher domestic sales, witnessing 25% growth with 16,08,730 units sold. However, exports witnessed a fall of 21%, with 9,43,818 units exported in the April-October 2023 period. The company exported 11,89,768 units last year.
