Abzo VS01 Launched: Costs Rs. 1.8 Lakhs-Rs. 2.2 Lakhs | Here’s What You Need To Know!

Abzo Motors, based in Ahmedabad, has launched its maiden electric bike, Abzo VS01, in Gujarat. This high-speed electric bike requires a driver's licence and RTO registration. Suniel Shetty, a well-known Bollywood actor, inaugurated the event. Abzo VS01 doesn’t have a conclusive price. However, the electric bike costs between Rs. 1.8 Lakhs & Rs. 2.2 Lakhs, depending on the model.

Launch of Abzo VS01: Specifications & Features

The electric mobility firm is introducing the vehicle in phases, beginning with Gujarat. Abzo has collaborated with a dealer network and makes national launch claims. In Rangpurda, close to Ahmedabad, the firm has a 17,069-square-metre manufacturing facility on Kadi-Thol Road.

The battery’s unit is a 70 Ah unit with 72V, roughly translating to 5 kWh in capacity. A hub motor at the back wheel is capable of delivering 6.3 kW peak power & 190 Nm peak torque. A reverse mode and a regen function are also available. The Abzo promises to have a range of 180 km on a full charge (ARAI approved).

The digital instrument cluster displays 3 riding modes: Eco, Normal and sports. These riding modes have max speeds of 45 km/h, 65 km/h & 85 km/h, respectively. The components include 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres & single-disc brake setups with CBS at both ends. The standard seat height for bikes in the cruiser style is 700 mm, while the ground clearance is 158 mm.

As seen in the demonstration video, the battery is housed on what appears to be a spine chassis. RSU telescopic front forks and twin-shock absorbers at the back support the entire system. Abzo claims a full charge takes 3 hours and 20 minutes in fast charging mode. While it takes 6 hours and 35 minutes with standard charging mode.

Price, Manufacturer’s Statement & Additional Information

There was no indication of the required voltage or amperage to reach these charging rates. Abzo didn't say whether VS01 complies with fireproofing requirements like AIS 156. Abzo claims that the pricing of the VS01 ranges between Rs. 1.8 lakh & Rs. 2.2 lakh. However, the manufacturer has not provided a precise figure yet.

Whether this price is ex-showroom, on the road, or includes FAME II subsidies is not specified by Abzo either. The business pledges to add a "2nd Bike Category - Standard Bike" to their inventory in the future. Spacious baggers and tourers have inspired the design of VS01, and it is a pleasant cruiser.

This is clear from how Abzo created VS01. A calm riding position and ergonomics are visible. The rider seat appears to be accommodating, and the footpegs are forward-set. Round headlights and ORVMs reflect the neo-retro theme. A cover on the LED lamp increases its vintage charm even further.

While remarking on the launch, Ms. Kanchi Patel, Co-founder of ABZO Motors, stated, "We are extremely delighted to launch our first e-bike – VS 01. Electric bikes are the future of the automobile industry and Gujarat is gradually emerging as a hub for manufacturing electric vehicles including both two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Therefore, our home ground Gujarat was a natural choice as it provides us with a familiar environment, a wholesome ecosystem for automobile manufacturing, and valuable insights for manufacturing, testing, and launching our products."
