Ducati has updated the Desmo450 MX and Desmo450 MX Factory for the 2027 model year (MY27) after collecting feedback from its first full season of motocross racing. The updates focus on gearing, rider comfort, stronger parts, and maintenance. In addition, the Factory version gets an Akrapovic titanium exhaust and upgraded Showa suspension. The updated motorcycles have started reaching selected dealerships in Europe, while Ducati has yet to confirm its India launch timeline.

The 2027 Desmo450 MX now uses a 51-tooth rear sprocket, replacing the 49-tooth unit on the current India-spec model. This change shortens the gearing and should help the motorcycle respond faster on motocross tracks. However, Ducati has kept the five-speed gearbox unchanged.
The company has also redesigned the gear and rear brake pedal tips to improve rider comfort and control. In addition, the larger fuel filler opening should make refuelling quicker, while the latest model uses Pirelli Scorpion MX32 Mid-Soft tyres.
Ducati has also strengthened several parts that face repeated impacts during off-road riding. These include the chain-guide mounting, fork-slider guards and front engine-to-frame brackets. Perhaps the most useful update for owners is the new predictive maintenance system. When riders fit the optional Wi-Fi module, the system can use actual riding conditions to help determine when the motorcycle needs servicing.
The standard Desmo450 MX continues to use a 449.6cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with Ducati's desmodromic valve system. It produces 63bhp and 53.5Nm of torque, with the rev limiter set at 11,900rpm. This high-revving engine helps riders hold gears for longer and reduce gear changes between corners.
The motorcycle retains its aluminium frame, which uses 11 main elements to balance strength and weight. It weighs 104.8kg without fuel and gets a 21-inch front wheel and a 19-inch rear wheel. Suspension travel measures 310mm at the front and 301mm at the rear.

The Desmo450 MX Factory receives all the standard model's MY27 updates, along with additional equipment for competitive riding. Its biggest upgrade is an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system with dedicated engine mapping. Ducati says the exhaust cuts 1.7kg compared with the standard system and improves acceleration and power delivery.
The Factory version weighs 104kg without fuel. It also gets a 49mm fully adjustable Showa front fork with Dark Kashima treatment and TiO superfinishing. Ducati has applied similar low-friction treatments to the rear shock. In addition, billet-machined triple clamps, a front brake-disc guard, sump protection and an RK MXU gold O-ring chain come as standard.
A Holeshot device helps riders control the front end during race starts. The Factory model also includes the Wi-Fi module, allowing riders to adjust engine response, launch control, engine braking and traction control through the X-Link app.
The standard 2027 Desmo450 MX gets Ducati Red bodywork with black logos, replacing the earlier white logo treatment. Meanwhile, the Factory version features the 2027 Ducati Corse livery.
Ducati has not confirmed India launch dates for either motorcycle. The current Desmo450 MX sells in India at ₹17,23,600 (ex-showroom). Since the company already sells the standard model here, the updated version could arrive between January and March 2027. However, this remains an estimate, not an official announcement.
The Factory version's India launch looks less certain because Ducati India does not currently list it in its main motorcycle range. Its price and availability in India remain unconfirmed.
