Yamaha to Launch YZF-R3 & MT-03 in India on December 15

Yamaha is set to launch 2 of its highly anticipated motorcycles in India on December 15: YZF-R3 and the MT-03. These Japanese twins will make their debut together and are sure to excite motorcycle enthusiasts across the country. If you're planning to purchase either of these bikes, here's what you need to know.

The Yamaha YZF-R3 and MT-03 share the same platform but differ in terms of design. The R3 features a fully faired bodywork with a split LED headlight, while the MT-03 is a naked motorcycle with a single-pod headlight.

Both bikes are powered by the same 321cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 42bhp & 29.6Nm. They come equipped with LED illumination, an LCD with a host of readouts, and a 6-speed gearbox.

The Yamaha MT-03 and the YZF-R3 share the same hardware, including 

• Suspension - USD front forks & a monoshock.
• Brakes - Single front and rear discs with dual-channel ABS.
• Wheels & Tyres - 17-inch wheels wrapped in road-biased tyres.
   

Yamaha will offer both the R3 and MT-03 at select Blue Square dealerships. Deliveries will commence soon after the launch on December 15.

Once launched, the Yamaha R3 will compete against the 

• KTM RC 390
• TVS Apache RR 310
• Kawasaki Ninja 300
• Ninja 400. 

Meanwhile, the Yamaha MT-03 will take on the 

• new KTM 390 Duke
• TVS Apache RTR 310 
• BMW G 310 R.
