Yamaha Aerox based Augur scooter revealed

Yamaha has introduced the Augur, a brand-new scooter in Taiwan that shares the same chassis as the Yamaha Scooter- Aerox 155 sold in India. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer's more expensive option is the Yamaha Augur, though. Although the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the Augur are built on the same platform while sharing many essential parts, the Augur's overall style and features give it a far more premium appearance.

The style of the Yamaha Augur is modern and angular. The central LED headlamp that resembles a Kawasaki H2 superbike dominates the front fascia of the vehicle. This oddly aggressive-looking LED headlamp features a cornering feature and even allows the user to choose between a warmer yellow or pure white theme. Additionally, it is stated that this headlight has Yamaha Lean Light Assist (Y-LLA) technology, which provides extra light when the body is tilted during a turn.

The Augur has a muscular appearance thanks to its overall design, which provides it with a commanding presence on the road. A 4.3-inch TFT display in the instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, fully keyless operation, an LED taillight, and other conveniences are also included with the scooter. In addition, the Yamaha Augur receives a flat board as opposed to the Aerox 155's central spine.

The Yamaha Augur is equipped with front and rear disc brakes, traction control, ABS, and other safety features. The 155 cc liquid-cooled engine that powers the Yamaha Aerox 155 also serves as the power source for the high-end scooter. Although Yamaha has not disclosed the scooter's horsepower and torque ratings, we may anticipate that it will produce 15 bhp and 13.9 Nm, similar to the India-spec Aerox 155. The Augur, which weighs 132 kg and is 6 kg heavier than the Aerox, has a 6.1-litre fuel tank as opposed to the Aerox's 5.5-litre tank.
