Vespa has introduced the new Primavera 180 and Sprint 180 scooters in Indonesia with a stronger engine setup. Both models now use a 174cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. This new motor produces around 15 HP at 8,250 RPM and 13.7 Nm torque at 6,500 RPM.

Compared to earlier 150cc versions, the power has increased by about 2.5 HP. In addition, torque has also improved slightly, which should enhance city riding performance. Riders may feel quicker acceleration and smoother overtakes in daily traffic. However, these scooters still focus on comfort rather than aggressive speed.

Improved Braking & Updated Hardware

One major update comes in the braking system. Vespa has replaced the rear drum brake with a 220mm disc brake. This change should offer better stopping control and improved safety.

In addition, the system now includes a twin-piston calliper, which adds more confidence while braking at higher speeds. Most variants come with single-channel ABS. However, the top Sprint Tech 180 offers dual-channel ABS for better balance.

Features That Add Convenience and Style

The new scooters bring several feature upgrades to improve everyday usability. All variants now include a remote key system and a digital display.

The Primavera 180 gets a full-colour LCD, chrome details, and new alloy wheels. It also offers a comfortable single-piece seat. Meanwhile, the Primavera S variant adds a keyless system for easier access.

On the other hand, the Sprint 180 focuses more on sporty styling. It features sharper design elements, updated wheels, and side grids. The Sprint S adds a redesigned seat and more colour options.

Perhaps the most advanced version is the Sprint Tech 180. It comes with a 5-inch TFT screen, ambient lighting, and smartphone connectivity. These additions give it a more modern feel.

Pricing & Market Plans Remain Unclear

In Indonesia, the Primavera 180 starts at around Rs 2.99 lakh. In the meantime, the Sprint 180 starts at circa Rs 3.18 lakh. The best Sprint Tech 180 prices are almost similar to Rs 3.59 lakh.

But Vespa has not yet confirmed the launches in other markets. The brand in India already sells the scooter up to 150cc. Provided that Vespa launches these models in India, they may appeal to those who want more power. Nevertheless, the pricing will be a contributing factor to success.
